its true that the blue jays were 23-30 last year before they went on an 11 game winning streak, but then they went mediocre again until the deadline, where only a 43-18 finish got them to the playoffs. you cant count on that every year. even with the same w/l record last year they weren't facing the problems they are now with no end in sight.
