It's really not THAT absurd of an idea. The Angels are going nowhere for the foreseeable future as their currently built, they have one of the worst farm systems in baseball and Pujols's albatross of a contract in an already high payroll that's going to slow down building through free agency.
The return they'd get from trading Trout could turn their franchise around overnight.
