They have a lottery system but the compounds should be near identical and not have variations like that.

I think it might have been Horner talking about it sometime last year how one set of tires could last 10 laps and another of the same compound used in the same conditions and setup would last only 8 (not necessarily due to wear but things like heat tolerances varying in the same compound). This is all purely from memory though and I don't know how accurately I'm remembering it.
Either way, I hate how tires have to be made in a way that doesn't maximize their performance and instead forces drivers to worry more about tire wear over putting in good lap times or having a good balance between the two. The way tires are makes drivers worry more about how long they can make the tires last to reduce pit stops which makes for boring racing, even with the 3 different available compounds this year.

Yeah I remember the free stream, one channel crashing every 20 minutes for 5 minutes at a time. Once they reached a certain amount of viewers they were always going to need to charge.

Ive paid for the full season last year, but wasnt able to watch the final few races due to timezones. There isnt even an ability to rewatch it or anything like it. 10 channels or not, the main channel should work more like youtube does; Live, but allowing to rewind right away.
Now with Toyota once again shitting it up, I dont really feel like paying for a whole season again just for the Volkswagen vs Volkswagen and GTE battles.
Oh, not to mention I also dont own a credit card since its not the norm in .NL. I would have to get one of those credit gift cards that obviously cost more than you get, and I wouldnt be able to spend all of it on the WEC leaving a few euros, making paying for the official stream a bit more expensive than it seems.

Yeah theres little point to hook up the petrol/diesels to the front wheels. Theyre only there to maintain top speed essentially. The hybrid power output is so immense, thats whats accelerating the cars to top speed mostly.
