the only serious competition NFL has is the MLB but they both respect each other due to their history in this country.
NHL fixed this a long time ago by nearly having their games and season overall start a bit later and has worked out for them

Baseball is plenty popular bro, maybe not quite Leafs level, but I know lots of people who love baseball, even before last years run. I'm in my thirties though, and baseball tends to be more popular with older crowds
