I feel like its not even patches anymore. Its just so random.
But this Fifa has been the biggest shitshow of them all. There has been 3 major patches that has completely changed the game, unless you play every single day, how are you supposed to be good when you come back from a break, and none of the things your learned are good anymore?
In the beginning it was super sluggish, even I thought it was too much, but passing actually felt like it had a purpose, even with the overtuned interceptions.
Then they changed that, and L1 spam dribbling became bread and butter, the game was a lot faster but lobbed throughballs still sucked ass.
Then they patched that, now you can pass with your back towards goal, lobbed throughballs are broken, defending is retarded and further shows how bugged this game is, granted that some games they literally just dont do anything at all by themselves, and some games they are divine gods who intercept everything for you on their own. Now passing is absolutely useless again.
The only things that has stayed the same through the patches are;
>useless goalkeepers, literally nothing but a joke unless you constantly spam triangle while the other person has the ball, which in turn will ruin every single throughball he attempts
>dribbling to the backline and doing a triple cross og hard pass into the center will always create chaos and there is practically no way to stop it against good players
>if you keep shooting, you will score. you tip the scripting scale enough and eventually you will blast it in from 30 yards or magically win a header on a corner
Fifa has literally never been more arcady, and the only people who maintain great win-rates either play every single day or have had the best players in FUT since day 1.

I still play FIFA due to the license convenience, but I find PES to be more enjoyable. With that said, them limiting kit imports, edits, and the lack of leagues really gets frustrating.
