Two players will play a brace of matches each week for the next four rounds before the last two weeks of the league phase are four matches each.
Kicking off the evening of darts are James Wade and Raymond van Barneveld. Barney was back to his best last week against MVG while Med Man fought back to get a point off Gando. With the Dutchman five points off the playoffs after the conclusion of the group phase, a win is necessary if he is to make it to the O2.
The current table topper in Phil Taylor is next as he plays reigning PL champion Gary Anderson. After cruelly yet mercifully killing Blubby Boy with a bull finish, Philth will revert to being the villain against the Scotsman who hasn't lost in the PL since he last played the Groper.
The survivor from Judgement Night is third in the night as Robert Thornton faces off against the now vincible Michael van Gerwen. The first fixture between the two in Liverpool produced the shock of the league so far as a noticeably out-of-sorts Green Machine drew with Wee Rabbie. With no win in three now for the World Number 1, this will be the perfect fixture to restart his winning ways.
Two English derbies close out the tungsten fun in the Steel City as Adrian Lewis first plays against utter berk Peter Wright. With the Fat Man actually on course for the playoffs this year, playing Clownman, who he demolished in Nottingham last month, should be the perfect starter for his wobble towards London.
Wade then faces Taylor in their second fixture of the night in what may be a repeat of week two's humbling of a tired bipolar sufferer against a sex pest.

And that D12 closes a night of darts that in all honesty was not very good, barring one match.
James Wade took the spoils in the opening match of the night, a single break of throw all it took to defeat Barney, who is now six points off the play-off stage. It looks like he won't be going to the O2 this year, which is more than deserved as he had been his head-shaking self once again, only playing when he can be bothered.
Taylor secured top spot with an eventually simple win over Gary Anderson, who was dismantled by an 81 outshot that started with the outer bull. Gando then turned into the Philth-pocketeering prick of years ago and promptly gave up. And to think he'd held such a strong grip over him in the past few years...
The best game of the night was the middle fixture as Wee Rabbie, playing his best game of the PL so far with a 104 average, was blitzed by the power of Autism. An average of 118 - the second highest in PL history - would have been overshadowed had MVG thrown away a 6-2 lead to draw 6-6 with some sloppy finishing. It's certainly a return to the unstoppable force of before for van Gerwen, but maybe he's not back to the peak yet.
Snackpot and Clownman then played out a complete dirge of a fixture only made interesting by the midlife crisis man choking five match darts before losing to the Fat Man who then ran off the stage to explode.
Med Man repeated his week two performance by not challenging Philth whatsoever despite a lot of abysmal finishing from both players.
Let's hope for a better night overall next week from Belfast with these fixtures:
