Just search for public golf courses in your area (you need to be a member/know a member to play private courses). My local course costs ~20AUD/30AUD for 9/18 holes. Don't get a cart unless you're a soft cunt and like the other guy said practice at a range for a while so you don't look like a dingbat and hold everyone up.
Best bet is to go at a time when the course won't be very busy and to get a couple of mates that aren't turbos. Very comfy.
