As a guy who's been going since the 90's it's harder to get tickets sometime because these fuckers keep on jacking up the ticket prices. Same thing is happening to the Hawks games, used to be easy to get hawk tickets back when they suck and never showed home games on tv. Now it's more expensive to get tickets, at least we have the wolves for the 2nd hockey team of the city.

The Cubs play in Chicago because their stadium there is a tourist trap that brings in a ton of money, if Wrigley were just another ballpark the Cubs would be playing in Schaumburg.

I guess you could argue that wind plays too much of a factor in Cubs baseball, thanks to Wrigley, and with Chicago being known as the Windy City doesn't help much. I've seen games where the wind is blowing out at 30mph when the opposing team is at bat, and aids 2-3 routine flyballs to homerun distance. Meanwhile, when the Cubs come up to bat, it seems as if the wind is blowing in, sucking in homerun balls to routine flyballs.
With that said, Wrigley Field is an epic baseball park for the post-season. You need only look to game 3 of the NLCS against the Cards. The Cubs set a MLB post-season record with 6 homeruns. Who DOESN'T want to see that, aside from "The Best Fans in Baseball?"

These owners believe that winning World Series Championships means selling more team merchandise, having the team represented on more television channels, selling more tickets (Wrigley Field will always sellout in the summer though), gaining more sponsorships, and just flat out earning more money. The previous owners didn't give a fuck about winning, since the core die-hard fanbase is huge for the Cubs. However, the Epsteins want to create a dynasty, that will rival the Yankees (keep in mind, they recreated the Red Sox as one of the best teams in baseball in the 00's). The Epsteins have a LOT of money to do this, and have already BTFO of the Cubs biggest rival, yanking 2 of their star players for LESS.
