>>
Yeah they do. Its called scoring in the 90th minute.
>>
>>66602056
Shut up idiot
>>
>>66602056
Then the ref decides to give the other team 6 more minutes
>>
>>66602056

no such thing as a buzzer is slurpball m8
>>
>>66602056
>minute
>buzzer beater
>>
>>66602088
Extra time is still referred to as the 90th minute.
>>
>>66602056
Not a buzzer beater. There's still an unkown amount of time left in the game and a very hopeful person could still think an equalizer possible. There's a period of slight doubt that that really was the final goal before you find out for sure whenever the ref decides to blow his whistle. With this, it is without question the game-winning shot. There's no real definitive "dagger play" in divegrass.
>>
>>66602056
Does it involve a buzzer? Didn't think so faggot
>>
>>66602056
You never know which kick is the last. That's nota buzzer beater
>>
>>66602163
So then how is it anything like a buzzer beater when the game has no set end and the 90th minute can be 10 minutes long

fuck off faggot

This post is exactly why i only watch the last 2 mins of any basketball game. The fucks the point of watching all 4 quaters if everything goes down in the last seconds?

Golden goals aren't buzzer beaters. Sudden death is something different
>>
>>66602056
American here

this man is correct
cheeky 90+ers are actually many times better than buzzer beaters
>>
>>66602511
It's not for everyone but I love watching how a game changes over the course of 40-48 minutes. If you watched that entire game you would have seen how UNC jumped out to a lead in the first half then couldn't find a basket in the second half, how they came back from ten down with 5 minutes left and made it a game in the first place

If you only watched the final two minutes of most games you would never watch most games, both of the other final four games were awful and decided long before the two minutes mark
>>

man city winning the league in 2012 was due to not one but TWO buzzer beaters (i.e extra times goals)

>op btfo
>>
>>66602722
No they're not because goals are only worth one point. If you're down in a basketball game you can steal the win with a buzzer beater.
If you're down in soccer game the best you can hope for is a tie.
>>
>>66602919
Than they weren't really buzzer beaters were they?
>>
>>66602802
Except you know, winning a championship in the last seconds while literally cucking your arch rival out of the title at the very same moment.
>>
>>66602919

pretty neat

because they really, really like semen slurping
>>
>>66602511
For the momentum swings and neat plays. You could say this about any sport. What's the point of watching a hockey game when you could just tune in the 3rd period when it's tied up. Or a baseball game in the 9th inning. Or a football game the last quarter

But it was done. Golden Goal: if you score in extra time, the game is over and you win.

In the final of the European Championship in 2000, Sylvain Wiltord scored an equalising goal for France in the 93rd minute, then in extra time David Trezeguet scored the golden goal which ended the match and won the title for France. It was basically two buzzer-beaters in one match to decide a quadrennial championship.

Golden goals were later abolished.

Is no one going to mention the obvious difference between basketball and other sports? Points don't come at a premium in basketball. Seeing a score means basically nothing. Seeing touchdown in football, score in soccer or hockey is a significant event. 2 or 3 points in basketball is not. From a spectator's view, basketball is more like a cross country race than it is like hockey, football, or soccer.
>>
>>66602030
>All this ameriburger circlejerk
What happen to america?
>>
>>66604246
It's never basket for basket though. Each teams have runs they go on. They adjust things through out the game to gain advantage. Just tuning in to a 86-87 in the 4th doesn't give you the whole picture of what's been happening. And there's nothing wrong with a sport having incremental increases throughout the game rather than large chunks at once. Tennis and cricket are like that too

Agueroooooo is nothing compared to Liverpool-Arsenal in 1989.

Aguero was amazing but they were playing relegation fodder at home who had been reduced to ten men

This is better than anything that has occured in any American sport ever.

If a shit team loses a match on a "buzzer beater" they get REWARDED with a better position in the "draft" American sports drama is all manufactured, that's why everything is commercialised.
>>
>>66605709

>DEEEEEENNNEEEEYYYY

Was literally just about to post this.

We actually do play-offs better than the Americans, where they can have a 200-game season in Boreball and still need a playoff to decide who's the winner.

there is certainly last-gasp drama in soccer, but it's not technically the same as a buzzer beater because stoppage time goals rarely coincide exactly with the whistle. And the idea that you could win/tie/lose on a last shot only comes out in soccer if there's away goals at play. Technically not the same desu
