As we grow up we don't idolize specific athletes as much as before. Now becoming fans of teams as a whole. So my question to you is which athlete do you cheer for the most? Do you still have a favorite player who you follow?
Name your favorite player out of everyone in each sport. Give reasons if you like.
Even growing up I was always a Homer. But I did love Michael Jordan.
Basketball= Dirk
Baseball= Pudge Rodriguez
Football= Emmitt then Romo

Derrick Rose is the only "favorite player" from my childhood who isn't retired. The others (Jeter, Allen, Urlacher) are all gone.
Used to watch him in high school. Would just jack up threes randomly from nba range and consistently make them.

if you grew up in the 90s or 80s, everyone idolized Jordan, it was common place, like the popularity of the Cowboys in the 90's or Niners in the 80's
also, I'm a no homer from a flyover, so this will look a little strange

I was born and raised in the same city as him, he played for my local baseball team Tigres de Aragua and won a championship for them, then moved on to the Marlins (while I was living in Miami, half my family lived here already) and won the World Series with them.
He's literally my hometown hero
Growing up in San Antonio my favorites were always George Gervin, David Robinson and Tim Duncan.
