basketball is hilarious when you're stoned. you really notice how intense each moment is, and in particular my friend and I found ourselves laughing really hard at times when something dramatic would happen and the players would make the most awestruck faces possible, sometimes they look like they're in agony. I really recommend it actually, funnier than any stand up comedy. and the sports itself are really cool too

Really depends on the strain you're using. Different strains have wildly different effects.
But, something that the "right strain" makes me appreciate is pure skill and ability. Some players just stand the fuck out because they have this 3D image of the whole pitch, they have this circus artist's ability of getting the ball wherever they want in a split second, they are in touch with their teammates and can predict where they'll go and what they'll do, as well as their opponents. Weed dilutes time (time is just relative and the speed at which it goes depends on how you experience it) so you can see those kind of subtleties and appreciate them, which you can't when you're sober.
That is why weed is considered a doping by sports associations, because with the right strain and focus, it gives you the ability to do things better.
