In fairness, there hasn't really been a great English manager for some time. There are a lot of great historical names, such as Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan, Sir Alf Ramsey, Sir Bobby Robson, Don Revie, Brian Clough, etc.
Howard Wilkinson was the last English manager to win the League, with Leeds United in 1992 (the last championship before the formation of the Premier League).
A couple of managers had success overseas in the 1980's, such as Malcolm Allison and Terry Venables, but few bother leaving Britain these days.
