somebody has to talk about the elephant in the room...

how did they become so good,so fast?

The other big English teams are restructuring or collapsing right now, apart from Arsenal who just come 4th.
Leicester have extremely good scouting that's got them an amazing team for fuck all that's in extremely good form together.
They have a manager who's actually decent but slipped under the radar.
The style of football that Leicester play is extremely effective against most of the football that is dominating the premier league.
>>
Because they don't give a fuck. They're literally using FIFA 16 tactics and it's working IRL.
>>
The "English "Premiere" League is a joke, anyone can win there and all matches are literally flipping the coin

Leicester are just luckier than other clubs

Notice how the current champion (Chelsea) is amongst the worst clubs this season and they didn't sell a single key player and they also have the same manager as last season
>>
>>65489657
Maybe Leicester were never that bad? Their amazing winning run started last season and coincided with the arrival of Robert Huth. Sure, they played a different system back then but large parts of the team remained the same.

It also helped that nobody took them seriously, hell, even now people don't take them seriously, because why else would Man Shitty allow their fullbacks to go on the overlap against Leicester?

It's because pretty much every manager in the world builds a team like its fucking FIFA Ultimate Team and buys the best and most expensive players at each position without giving though to team chemistry or how each player will complement each other, instead just building the "best" squads on paper. Which obviously doesn't work because you have competing personalities and big stars used to being the center of attention who are now relegated to playing smaller parts and not getting the ball enough. Shit like that only works on national teams where the guys are united behind a commonality and only have to play a few games a year with each other.

Leicester don't have any big stars destroying the clubhouse or stepping on each others toes or causing rifts with the management, they are only concentrating on playing good football and they are thriving in the underdog role.

It's fucking stupid, everyone just spends millions of dollars on the biggest stars, trying to build dream teams or Galacticos or whatever and it always falls flat. Also, these big clubs go through managers every fucking year which leads to zero continuity and confused players. Literal retards must be running these clubs.
>>
>>65494960
still got more teams in the CL than the buyernliga, strange
>>
Meme magic

Also they have a GOAT crest
>>
>>65491831
Should've delved into why their tactics are so effective. In a sense, there are two Leicester gameplans from what I've seen. First of all, they are very solid in the back, and while they aren't great in possession from the back 4 they move the ball quick up to their more dangerous players. Against the higher level of possession teams they counter extremely effectively and against mid to bottom they are more balanced (but since Mahrez is a God and Vardy is finishing well, they win).
Oddly enough, the only team they don't match up well against of the top 4 is perennial 4th placed Arsenal, because (minus Mertesacker) Arsenal are pace attackers and defenders with good possession.
Strange League, desu.
>>
>>65489657
They're not good. The rest of the league is just shit. Worst season of all time
>>
They are currently playing in one competition. Fitness is their key.
>>
>>65495655

Outside of the usual big 4 and City, the league is the best it has ever been.

>worst season of all time

It would be easily the best if Leicester manage to win. I really don't get why some people want to maintain the status quo instead of having other teams break into the top 4. It gets boring as fuck.

literally all the stars aligned to make this happen
-Leicester suddenly have two of the top 10 players in the PL this year
-Chelsea and Liverpool regressing mightily from last year
-Arsenal and Man City wracked by key injuries
-Tottenham, as always, not QUITE good enough to win it all

the best part is that the new TV deal the PL has means Leicester won't immediately sell off all their best players after this miracle run, so we'll get another year or two of the Mahrez and Vardy show

Injured sanchez, injured coquelin and injured cazorla.

>>
it started with an exceptional run of form of their strikers on the wave of the great escape last season
then Ranieri experience and input started to show, and they became a much more stable and organized side
they have a good chance to win the league imo

>>65491831

not really an excuse for performing so shitty

>>
>>65495614
Let's not forget about their pressing game. Yes, they like to sit deep in their own half, but they also focus on quickly winning the ball back in the opponent's half.

That's why Kante is so immensely important for them, his workrate, aerial ability and tackling are amongst the best in the entire league. Him and Danny Drinkwater are absolutely immense. And let's not forget about their defensive contributions, Kante often moves out to the wings to assist the FBs and wingers in defence, one of the reasons why high crosses just don't work against Leicester (the other would be Huth).

>>65498650
Football formations don't even convey that much information, many teams have a completely different shape when attacking and defending. A 4-2-3-1 can turn into a 3-1-3-3 in buildup play, by dropping a holding midfielder deeper, moving up the fullbacks and advancing with the wingers. When pressing the 4-2-3-1 often transforms into a 4-4-2.
>>
>>65497916
It's only bandwagoners and villa fans who are complaining about this season. Everyone else knows it's been brilliant and a show of a step up in quality
>>
>>65489657
They do as much running as drugged-up Spain did before Fuentes got busted.

>>
>>65499722
On the tactical level I'd say that Bundesliga teams are more formidable. Their pressing game and movement off the ball is something you don't really see in English football.

At the same time they don't offer much flair and moments of individual brilliance. The focus is on organization, shape and the collective instead of technical skill.

I'd say that most top clubs in Germany (Bayern, Dortmund, >Schalke, 'Gladbach, ...) could match English sides.
>>
>>65499800

german clubs mostly get btfo by epl teams, with the exception of Bayern of course
>>
>>65499800

>Gladbach
lost both games against Man City, but they were in insanely poor form back then. They went on a 5 game loosing streak in the league at this season's beginning.
>Bayern
Beaten by Arsenal away, utterly humiliated them at home

I never said that German clubs were superior, I said that they could match the level of English clubs and judging from this year's CL they can do that.
>>

PEDs aren't even helpful in soccer. Roiding up and runni g faster won't make you a better dribbler, shooter, or passer.
>>
>>65495472
>>65495614
I mean these explanations are not that detailed, but have to say well done to USA anons for knowing Leicester's games.

>>65499611
Couldn't be more wrong. Leicester's squad is THICK, have one of the strongest benches in the league. They've chosen to tap in to the youth system with Chilwell because he's quality unlike United, Liverpool, Everton, Man City who have had too because of a lack of player.

Leicester have also been without Matty James all season, and Jeff Schlupp has been out for months, Vardy's played injured over christmas, and Drinkwater's missed a few from injury.
>>
>>65513545
PED's definitely help endurance, though. You can run or exercise faster or longer and have better stamina on PED's, which is essential to being good at soccer because nobody wants a player who is exhausted after running around for 60 minutes. That's why cyclists and runners like Lance Armstrong and Olympic guys use roids. Super helpful. Guarantee some guys are juicing in FIFA.
>>
>be small club
>hire a respectable foreign good coach
>work and motivate everyday

Why is everyone saying they play 4-4-2 when they play a form of 4-4-1-1, which was SAF's title winning formation season after season.

Nothing shocking there. They're literally the new Manchester united in terms of how they play. I was watching an old man U vs arsenal game the other day on sky sports and they played exactly the same as Leicester are playing now.

Leicester just brought in Raneri this season too. Manager changes often work.

Freak signings like Mahrez, Lewandowski etc are also extremely rare. Leicester just got extremely lucky and then worked their asses off to make good of that luck. Something similar happened with Liverpool two seasons ago. They got luck with Sturridge not being broken, Suarez becoming GOAT, Gerrard rolling back the years.but they slipped up.

Can Leicester see it through?

this, la liga is boring, they should just put Barca and Real play like 15 games and that's it, the winner can get everything from the spanish tournaments.
>>
>>65523501
It failed against Arsenal (5-2) and Liverpool (3-1).
>>
>>65499800
Not really. The Bundesliga clubs tend to get crushed by the English clubs. Look at the few years before this season to see teams like Leverkusen, Schalke, and Gladbach get destroyed by Chelsea, United, and City. Arsenal have (deservedly or undeservedly) gotten unlucky with facing both Dortmund and Bayern yet have stood their ground in either the away or return fixture, managing a convincing results.

Chelsea have crushed both Schalke and Leverkusen, and beat Bayern in their own home in 2012 as well as in 2005 under Mourinho. United crushed Leverkusen with >Moyes, knocked out Schalke in 2011, and have beaten Bayern a few times, most memorably in 1999.

City are a joke, so they are the outlier, losing to Bayern and Dortmund embarassingly while beating them unconvincingly.

It's like the English-German rivalry goes to the English in club tournaments but goes to the Germans internationally.
