Neuer is overrated as fuck. The primary role of a GK is to stop shots, not to do little flicks and sideways passes outside his box. Neuer is constantly being caught out of position, and his shot-stopping is average.
De Gea is more conventional and "boring" to casuals, but he's much more reliable, and that's by far the most important trait for a GK.
