This

And hitting the cycle should be way lower, completely situational and nobody cares about a double or a single.

Also good to see the Jest made the list

1. Perfect perfect game. 81 pitches; 27 strikeouts; no ball in play. (Baseball)

It's a huge running play, a dragon is a bomb down the field to a WR, a land dragon is same thing but on the ground.

A perfect game is insanely difficult to accomplish but doesn't require he obscene situational luck of the other two mentioned.

literally harder than no hitters recently. no hitters are more celebrated though

unassisted triple plays and perfect games are about equally common, perfect games are much more celebrated

home run cycle is the goat, hasn't happened yet in the show

0.27% of at-bats are taken w/ runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs.

unassisted triple plays are possible with the bases loaded as well, which account for 0.38% of at-bats.

combine them to conclude that unassisted triple plays are only possible on 0.55% of at-bats.
>>
>tfw threw a 1-hitter in varsity high school (7 inning games), no walks
>the one hit I gave up was a double that bounced off of home plate and went over the third basemen's head into that little niche spot by the bullpen and the batter stretched a double out of it

>>
>>65054562
He's saying it can't be unassisted if there are players on 1st, 2nd, pitching, and hitting. The opponents are "techically" assisting the play. Autism at its finest
>>
>>65054577
If the ball hits home plate, it's a foul ball
>>
>>65054634
No one is THAT autistic... I think they're just curious how often there's even the possibility of an unassisted triple play.
>>
>>65054634
actually i was trying to find out how often it's even possible. At 0.55% of at-bats, this means the situation would only happen once every 2.5 games or so. On the other hand, the situation for a perfect game to happen is twice every game.
>>
also the possibility of a cycle happens 18 times per game, and they still only happen about as often as no hitters, which are only 2 times a game

cycles deserve more love
>>
>>65054699
B8
>>
>>65054699
No it's still fair play as long as it rolls into fair territory.

Another time when I was hitting I fouled one down the third base line, clearly foul, so I didn't run out of the box. The ball hits the lip of the grass and careens into fair territory at the last second, third baseman fields it and throws me out before I can get 2 steps out of the batters box.

Because of the angle from the dugout it looks like a regular groundball to third and my coach is livid with me for not running it out.

So long as the ball comes back to fair territory before crossing either first or third base, it is a fair ball.
>>
>>65054634
you completely missed the point, its not about the terminology, it's about the chances of the situation arising

a pitcher has an opportunity to pitch a perfect game every time he starts. any given fielder only has a 0.55% chance per game of getting into a situation where he might make an unassisted triple play

based on this pic we have:

19.07% of games including 12- w/ no out
21.92% of games including 123 w/ no out

probability of either is A + B - A*B
= 19.07 + 21.92 - 4.18
= 36.81% of games where an unassisted triple play is possible
>>

Probably perfect completion percentage in the nfl with over 14 passes. It's never happened

Then 4 goals in one World Cup game

Then an albatross in golf

Then a quadruple Double

Then 4 home runs in a game

Perfect games happen every so often

Nope. http://m.pfref.com/m?p=XXleadersXXpass_cmp_perc_single_game.htm

It is that hard. Even check down Charlie's can't do it. If you went pure check down the defense would just crowd the line and jump routes all day or shadow the rb.

It's really that hard. Probably will never happen

its when you score, assist and cure cancer in one game

How many 5000 yard passers in the entire nfl history?

How many in the last 10 years?

Perfect games are more common now. Therefore the happen every so often and aren't that impressive as you want them to be.

Same principle with 5000 yard passers.

I know it was only in the minors, but...

>On May 13, pitching despite painful stomach ulcers,[1] Necciai struck out 27 batters while throwing a 7-0 no-hitter against the Welch Miners. Four of the Welch hitters did reach base, one runner each via a walk, an error, a hit batsman and a passed ball charged to Twins' catcher Harry Dunlop on a swinging third strike. This resulted in a four-strikeout ninth inning. Only two batters put the ball in play: Bob Ganung grounded out to first base in the second inning and Whitehead got on base on an error in the ninth.

>In his next start, Necciai threw a 24-strikeout two-hitter. In that season he struck out 109 hitters in 43 innings with Bristol, and a Carolina League-high 172 in 126 innings at Burlington before quickly climbing the ranks of the organization and eventually getting called up to the Major Leagues amid heavy publicity in August 1952.[2]

>At 20 years old, Necciai posted a 1-6 record with 31 strikeouts and a 7.08 ERA in 54.2 innings pitched from August 10 to September 28, 1952, the single season composing his Major League career.

Larry Bird was a badass about this.

Bird sat out the entire fourth quarter. After three quarters, head coach K. C. Jones informed Bird that he was one steal away from a quadruple-double and asked if he wanted to stay in the game. Bird declined, saying that he "already did enough damage."

You damn well guarantee that any of todays stat padding players would have tried going for a quintuple double
