The weather will be so bad in Minnesota that Vikings playoff tickets are selling for dirt cheap
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/weather-bad-minnesota-vikings-playoff-201900153.html
>>nd with AccuWeather's forecast predicting a high of three degrees Fahrenheit and a "Real Feel" of -17 degrees Fahrenheit, ticket prices for the game have fallen off a cliff.

>>
Damn I would love to go, and im not even a fan of either. Cold weather games are intense as fuck. I remember a few games in college where it would snow, throwing snowballs at the opposing team and snow in the air after touchdowns was comfy. Plus this one time my friend and I went to a game at 32 degrees kickoff, in nothing but a tshirt and santa hat because it was near winter break. then it started to snow after halftime. that might've been the coldest i've ever been. but i was on ESPN for like 10 seconds kek
>>
>>64742022

??? why is it retarded? because it's uncomfortable and difficult?
>>

That's not the Vikings new stadium, they're playing in the Gophers stadium for a year while the new one is built.
Regardless, should be fun to see the Seacucks try to deal with those temperatures.
>>
Attendance around the league has been dropping steadily since fantasy football became a normie thing, anyways. Pretty soon stadiums will have nothing but indoor seating where each seat has a split screen of the game and your fantasy teams.

if the weather can affect ticket prices and attendance for a home playoff game in the NFL maybe that team should up and leave from that shit fucking town that can't even deal with some cold to watch their team's attempt at ascension from near permanent mediocrity.

You think -17 would deter a Patriots or Packers playoff home game? Nope those tickets would still sell for the cost of a house in Minneapolis.

Don't blame weather on your shit tier fans.

Didn't that game have issues with the court being extremely slick? If they wanted to do outdoors basketball games they need to play on concrete/pavement. It's too risky with regular wood courts.

In Minnesota the air needs to be extremely dry to get that cold. Therefore when it's -17 it's too cold too snow.
>>
>The officials were unable to use their whistles after the opening kick-off. As referee Norm Schachter blew his metal whistle to signal the start of play, it froze to his lips. As he attempted to free the whistle from his lips, the skin ripped off and his lips began to bleed. The conditions were so hostile that instead of forming a scab, the blood simply froze to his lip. For the rest of the game, the officials used voice commands and calls to end plays and officiate the game.

Yeah but im assuming they meant snow in the thirties or heavy rain, not below 0

Shit is gonna be good though. Vikings lucked out, game went from a 100% blowout to a complete crapshoot due to the weather

True this. I live in KC and I went to a Raiders/Cheifs game a few years back in KC. It was the worst fucking experience ever. Drunk redneck fuckers causing shit nonstop. Starting fights and running into people. Even with good seats it wasn't an environment for families. This drunk redneck spilled his beer all over my wifes sons grilled cheese sandwhich that I microwaved during the tailgate.

The NFL promotes alcohol nonstop, and I love to drink, but when stadiums charge $10 a beer then people are showing up to the game already wasted, and the games are shitshows to watch in person unless you are a hammered redneck.
>>
>>64749727
I think football is actually better on TV than in person.
>>
>>64749763
It 100% is. Being at the game is more about the social experience, which is fun and hype, but if you want to watch football home is the way to go

We had -60 wind chill in Chicago a couple years ago and it was unlike anything I could have previously fathomed. At that point the cold will suffocate you. Nothing works at all, my car was fucked and the CTA all but shut down. Apparently that level of cold makes the tracks brittle and the risk of derailment goes up.

It broke after a day or two, but fuck man I hope that never happens again.

Conversely, I've also played football on a grass-dirt field frozen to rock in similar temperatures that the game should be in. Players in the NFL have the luxury of having very sophisticated clothing as well as jackets between snaps. Another luxury is that the wind will not be excessive and the atmosphere will just be cold

It sucks for the first 30 minutes, levels off then creeps in and out depending on your fortitude and really how long you're going to be out there. But it's not the worst thing in the world

It's in a college stadium with metal bleacher seating in below freezing weather, how are people surprised about this.

It's not designed like open topped stadiums the tfc stadium wasnt build to host games during the winter.

>build a big stadium
>leave one end basically open with a tiny stand or a fucking bridge like NE or whatever

Why is this a thing in American gridiron stadiums?

I sort of understand it for baseball when they want to show off the view of a skyline and most people want to sit around home plate. I mean, if they're worried about seats for blackout rules, why not fully enclose it but take off a few rows from the top tier? Much better for reducing the effects of weather and making a louder atmosphere.

When you're at the game it gives a nice view of the downtown skyline. I believe that's what they were tryin to achieve. It's also nice having that open plaza. During games there are alcohol and food vendors lined up back there.

That said, I agree; it would be better if everything was fully contained and more dense.

This, many of these stadiums were constructed piece by piece. They'd start out with bleachers along the sides, then add bowl seating at one endzone, then add a second level, etc.

I never understand why all the nice, cushy, indoor stadiums are in the south where the weather is fine most of the time, except maybe during the preseason (August). Why can't the north into decent stadiums? That's why the Superbowl is always in the South as well. Seems like its in Texas or Arizona every year.

First your wife for burning the roast even though you have told her explicitly countless times on how you like your roast beef cooked but the stupid cunt still fails to meet your average expectations so you've resorted to physical violence to get your point across. Then hitting your only child because he failed to get the important sack on the qb and only got B's on his report card, he'll probably be a failure just like you. Fast forward about 20-30 years, your wife left you and your son doesn't talk to you anymore. All you do now is get drunk on your front porch and break jack daniels bottles in your yard so the neighbor kids cut their feet up on the glass, it'll show them to get off your lawn for good. You no longer feel happiness just an anger at the world and a hatred for the government on how you feel it ruined you and that uncle sam is the devil. You'll eventually either kill yourself with the gun you keep locked in the cabinet or drink yourself into a stupor and overdose on pills.

Lot of pussies in this thread.

As a kid I had an early morning paper route and in the winter months I'd layer like I was going to the moon, -15~-25F on exceptional days, -5~+15F was more common, was no problem. Be out in it for an hour, every single morning. Having said that, it was also true that I was moving constantly, and not sitting in a stadium. Foolishly, I even took a brief nap outside in that type of weather once, lol. I would almost sleepwalk that thing, some days.

tl;dr wear long-johns under your pants, thick socks and 3-4 top layers ending with heavy winter coat and you can be outside in this type of thing and be perfectly comfy for several hours. This is a very easy outfit for anyone to put together; I'm just about psyching myself into actually going to the game.
