I honestly wish we could have had a harder schedule this season. I know it sounds stupid, but the Patriots tend to fuck around a lot against garbage teams, while those same teams are out to injure everyone they can on the Pats. Playing teams that have nothing to lose week after week has really cost us.

And here comes the typical Boston delusion and shit repeated by shit-Pressure Cooker media in the area. Times have changed, my meme posting friend. You're lucky Brady even made one last playoff run. He was held to Zero (0) (ABSOLUTELY NO) TD's this season by the DOLPHINS defense.
There is absolutely no comeback you could construct that would remove that besmirched record. Maybe try and deflate some more balls and then have Tom destroy his phone the day before the investigation. Or maybe hire another murderous TE? I'm having trouble believing that the Patriots really tried during the Dolphins game. It was clear from the start that the Patriots wanted to use this game to get the cobwebs off of Steven Jackson and help him prepare for the playoffs. Brady only threw 5 times during the entire first half (the lowest amount he's ever thrown in any game's first half). Patriots came into the game with a plan to run the ball a lot because the Dolphins have one of the worst run defenses in the league.
I feel like after the Dolphins took the lead, the Patriots panicked and shifted into passing the ball more but at the same time it felt like the players were playing a lot more cautious (you're telling me that it took only one corner to contain Gronk ALL GAME? no one on that Dolphins secondary is Revis level good.) It felt like they wanted to win but didn't want to take the risks which ultimately led them to playing TOO conservatively. In the end the Patriots ran more than they passed. Patriots wanted to play it safe and ultimately Bill pulled all the starters because they had fallen behind to the point where trying to comeback would of resulted in more players getting injured. Pats ended the game with only Brady getting hurt but also realized that they still had a first round bye regardless. I think at that point, the team didn't care anymore and would rather take the risk of playing on the road with a healthier team than risking health for home-field advantage. Ultimately the Patriots wanted to stay healthy and win at the same time but once they found out it was one or the other they chose health over a win.
I'm just not convinced the Patriots went into the game wanting to win. It felt like they wanted to experiment with the run game and just coast through the game and if they won, they won. Dolphins absolutely didn't want to lose to a team that was barely even trying so they played with more emotion.

just stop. It's not going to happen. This team is too injured. At best they'll be only getting half of their players back in time for the playoffs. If anything I see them losing in the AFC Championship unless Denver finds a way to choke the game. If that happens they'll lose the owl. Last years team was a lot healthier.

Who? Do you mean Matt Hasselbeck?
Reminder that the Seahawks 2012 draft class was rated an "F" and it was the opinion of all the "experts" that most of them would be out of the league in 2 years.
>>64678816
OK, but you get my point. Home field doesn't guarantee a win

They got were getting rekt in a meaningless game, speaking as a Seattle fan. I didn't even expect half their starters to play at all.

The Cards could have played like they meant it in the hope of snatching the #1 seed from the Panthers, on the slim chance they would lose to the Bucs. Probably wasn't worth the risk, though

>>64678985

>>64678988
Exactly. The Cards played exactly how I expected them to, everyone was expecting a close game or AZ going for the sweep.
They played cautious, they stayed as healthy as they could.

So what moves do you want your team to make over the offseason, /nfl/?
Right now I honestly don't know where to begin. Defense is literally completely broken, nothing short of a complete overhaul is acceptable. Our offensive line completely broke against the Iggles, our receiver core is fucking broken minus our meme dream receiver. And to top it all off, we might not even have Coughlin next season. The defense alone will take at least 3 drafts to fix.

Unless you have inane talent and are willing to work your ass off you'll never amount to anything. I could go off on a 20 minute tangent/rant about how youth sports in America is declining because of this but I'll not make myself mad.
So who's fired?

Russell Wilson has the highest passer rating in NFL history over the final 7 games, passing Brady from 2010.
Russell Wilson's 25 TD passes in the 2nd half of the season is 4th most all time behind Brees, Marino, and Manning.
Russell Wilson ended the regular season with the highest passer rating in the NFL, and the 1th highest single season all time.
Not bad for a game manager and some pedestrians.

But that isn't the present reality.
The present reality is the rams aren't in the playoffs and the 9ers *probsbly* won't be out of the cellar for a decade.
The present reality is also thus: Seattle is in the playoffs and SF isn't
>Teryl Austin is leaving the Lions
