Post ITT if you aren't a bandwagoning faggot and have supported the same team for your entire life through the good and the bad.

As always, pics or GTFO.

24 year old Mest fag here.

26, reds & bengals here. my personalized bat sits in front of the tv for 80+ disappointments every year. i used to listen to marty and joe under the covers with my dad's portable radio and i went to 18 ballgames last year, including the family reunion that i hosted there. i watched through akili smith, gus frerotte, jeff blake, and i've seen more disasters and heartbreak than most sports fans can even imagine. since 2009, i've seen my guys make the playoffs 8 times (about to be 9 times) and advance 0 times so far.

Adding on, despite the team being such shit nowadays and contending with the Cubs for attendance, I still make the effort to go to several if not more games a year even when I'm one of the only few there at the cell. I love this team and will forever keep loving them as my #1 team in all of sports.
>>
>>64283631
save for the whole, you know, "actually making the playoffs" part. Mest collapses of 07' and '08 were very fucking tough to deal with. Not to mention that i was at Citi to witness the Royals hand Harvey and the rest of our asses to us, as well as see the Yankees beat us at Shea in 5 on the coldest night I've ever experienced in my life. Cant stop believin though, and i hope you feel the same about the Reds. Without fans like us the game wouldn't be the same.

Honestly the cell isn't that bad. It's a nice modern "classic" park and when the attendance is shit, there's no lines, there's space to breathe, and tickets don't coat an arm or a leg. Granted the price to pay for that is the shitty product on the field but oh well.
>>
why do you guys even like baseball, it's so boring

I like your dimensions. Cozy in the outfield but cant rest on your laurels out there if a batter rips one.

My favorite spot to sit is the right field lower reserves. Shade during the day/noon games and the perspective of seeing the ball come at you is a great experience throughout the game. You also still see a lot of the big screen in center which is about to get bigger and also that very rare chance to catch a home run. But I'm usually good for sitting wherever in the cell. Due to how little people go to games sometimes, no one gives a shit if you just up and move to the front row or whatever as long as you aren't moving between levels.
>>
>>64283883
I actually prefer directly behind home playe on the "Promenade" (aka highest seats) level. You can always read when a ball hits the corners of the zone and when you watch a slower pitch, you can reasonably guess the height/ whether its a curve, change or a sinker slurve what have you

If it isn't already apparent my favorite part of the game is the dynamic between pitcher and catcher and how strategic it is. What makes you want to enjoy the game in the outfield? never been to a game in outfield seats.
>>
>>64283924
>>64283961
True, I also like overlooking and seeing the pitching. I don't think I'm good enough though to really analyze pitches in person and from that view though, much better to see it in broadcast, As for sitting in outfield, it's just an entirely different experience like I said seeing it as the ball is hit towards you instead of away.

Tack on 20/25 for parking too.

Do I have to own a specific amount or type of gear to qualify myself as a "real" fan? I mean I've been an Angels fan all my life but the most I own is like a t-shirt or two.
>>
>>64284015
I'd say for each season collect one piece of memorabilia as a focal point incase your friends come over and you want to tell a story about that year. Otherwise the only way to be a "true" fan is to cherish the memories of going to the games, and have that motivation to keep you going in supporting your club.
>>
>>64283544
I am offensive to that
>>
>>64284015
People like tripfags think that the way to show to show your true allegiance to your team is to keep giving them more money to purchase worthless memorabilia
>>
>>64284056
It certainly is a way to support your team but not the only way. I can talk shit to any yankees fan about how fucking horrible they are while wearing a white t-shirt and jeans, but just because i don't wear team clothing doesn't make me any less of a fan.

>>64283835
i moved here from holland when I was young, i think basketball and football are pretty exciting, all players are pretty athletic, they are fast, strong, and agile
baseball player seem to have very limited athletic abilities and their skills seem very specific and arbitrary

I used to think it was based on i don't know how to call it, childhood indoctrination... like how all euroes are soccer fans cause their families are all soccer fans etc.

but none of my family likes football or basketball before they moved here, and they liked it just fine, but they don't really understand baseball

>Basket ball and Football are pretty exciting, all players are pretty athletic, they are fast, strong, and agile.

You will find strength, agility, and finesse in every single one of these plays. Every successful play made in baseball takes 2X the effort and skill acquired through constant training, if not more, than any sport ever created in this video: https://youtu.be/AwDwEzHn6TQ

Royals fan. Was just old enough to see 85 in person as a little kid. Went through the lean years and the sleeveless black jerseys.
