>>
>>64258244

The sad thing is he'll have the most amazing season, probably finish as top scorer and may even win the league and yet Woy will STILL start Pooney ahead of him at the euros or play him on the fucking wing. If he does I am going to fucking seriously chimp out.
>>
>>64258327
this is true. rooney could start every game this season on the bench and he will still be the first name on the team sheet in france. it is clear by now that there is nothing he can do to deserve being dropped in woys eyes.
>>
our year, we're doing it lads
>>
wait til they lose those 2 players when they demand higher wages and other clubs offer a shit ton more.
>>
>>64258619

Every premier league club will get £150m minimum next year in TV money, they can match anything any other club offers so that will not be an issue. The issue will be whether or not the 2 players will want to move to a 'bigger' club. If Barcelona came in for Vardy for example would be be able to refuse them. I know I fucking wouldn't.
>>
>>64258635
>>64258635

they need to fuck off they already have the best team in the world. Speaking of that I also kind of noticed how scared shitless of other competition Bayern is because they buy out competition instead of relishing it.

>>

>>64258525
Dunno, I'm kind of optimistic on that front. I think Vardy and Rooney will definitely both start up top together. Vardy is a Hodgson player through and through for the same reasons Milner always was with his workrate and so on.

What we won't see is a Kane/Vardy partnership since Kane definitely isn't Hodgson style player, and Rooney will start over him for no good reason. Vardy and Sturridge would also be nice but he'll almost certainly be ded.
>>
>>64258645

You only just noticed? That shit's been going on for years. Chelshit do it as well which is what makes their downfall even more enjoyable.
>>
>>64258816
i never paid much mind to the bundesliga, but seriously how pathetic is that shit?
>>
>>64258828
Most teams do it, at all levels, in all sports. You tend to sign players you know and already tested locally, and local players tend to flock to the closest better teams. The problem with Bayern is they sign the best players of the #2 team in their league so it kills the competition.
>>
>>64258828
I only pray that one day Bayern will crash too. Chelsea and United are already going down the drain.
>>
>>64258844

United don;t do it so much, they tend to rely mnore on their own youth players, Chelshit just buy everyone else's promising youth team players then stick them in the reserves to rot. It's interesting to note that almost every team in the prem has a former utd youth player in their squad.
>>

>Every premier league club will get £150m minimum next year in TV money, they can match anything any other club offers so that will not be an issue.

Not exactly. The EPL's rules prevent any club from raising their wage bill by more than 4 million pounds from tv money per year. So hypothetically, if somebody came along and offered Vardy 100,000 per week, there would be fuck all Leicester could do to match it.

That would be a good deal for both Vardy and the club, but I highly doubt Mahrez wants to stay. There will be loads of interest for him from foreign teams as well and he's probably the type that wants to end up playing for Barca or something.

You don't get it. There are certain players that obsess about playing for Barca or Real Madrid (usually spics and Arabs) and he seems like that type. English players are the opposite of this type, most of them would probably rather play for Spurs than Barca or Real Madrid lol.

English players aren't the opposite of that type at all. They just dream of playing for Manchester United instead of Barcelona.

Mahrez definitely has the greed of the player who knows he's good. But he also knows he can be a hero and perhaps a legend of the PL if he stays here for a couple of years and it works.

I really believe he will only go to Barca or maybe PSG. He is about to get showered with money here, Nike are all over him and the owners are selling his image hard in the middle and far east. Everybody is still underestimating these Thais, they are not fucking around now.
>>
>>64260551

yeah, pakis are like that as well, they all think they are amazing, maybe it's a muslim thing
>>
>>64260625

It's true, english players would rather player for the top english clubs, they grow up worshipping them, not barca and real madrid. Besides they can get more money and stay in their own culture by playing in england so it's literally a win win situation for them.
>>
>>64260625

Fair enough. But you get what I'm saying, right? It seems like every player dreams of playing for one of the richest clubs out there, guys who have the opportunity to play for one of those teams but turn it down to play for less money and win fewer prestigious trophies are rare.
>>
>>64260625

I don;t think you quite understand the cultural power man utd has over people in this country, they are literally the pinnacle for every english footballer, if they get the chance to go there they will.
>>
>>64260648
It's also detrimental for the English national team, since their players never learn to play in non-outdated systems.

>>
vardy
>>
>>64260669
Well there is no evidence for this since all the top English players are pretty evenly distributed throughout the big teams in the PL. Also Manchester isn't the nicest place and I think a lot of players would rather live in London, so in some cases Man U might be only the 4th most attractive English team to play for. I really think you overestimate how much players care about history and size of the fan base.
>>
>>64260677

That makes great players.
>>
>>64260694
yes
>>
>>64260681
Even if it wasn't true, it would be really helpful for English players to play from a young age in Spain or Germany and become technically better, instead of focusing on speed and strength.
>>
>>64260671
I meant he's slightly greedy on the pitch, my post was unclear.

This is a good story on Mahrez for people interested in how he got here.

>>
>>64260685
he's a winger who is good at dribbling and crossing and is tied second with 7 assists
>>
>>64260699

Well Utd can't have every english player can they? Money plays it's part also and playing time is obviously important. But if ever have a situation arise where a player has to choose and utd is one of those choices utd nearly always win. This is fact m8 sorry.
>>
>>64260736
but he's a winger that can dribble yet he still is tied second with the most assist in the premier league

his playstyle is dribbling to create chances and open up for the others

But to a far less extent than all the other big European football nations. England have improved recently but see the Euro 2012 game against Italy, they were completely outclassed and had about 30% possession, that's because their players weren't capable of holding onto the ball.
>>

>Leicester really is home. He married an Englishwoman in the summer before pledging his professional future to the club by signing a contract extension to 2019. That was despite interest from Roma and Villarreal. There were even rumours of inquiries from Barcelona. “I don’t care about things like that. I am a Leicester City footballer and I am happy here. >>
>>64260699
Manchester United is the richest club in England. For that reason alone, they're automatically the most attractive English clubs to play for. We've already seen that players will choose money over London, just look at the exodus of talent from Arsenal and Spurs to Manchester United and Manchester City over the last decade. London only seems to be a factor when the money from the London and non-London club is equal (like when Liverpool and Arsenal were both after Sanchez or when Liverpool and Spurs were both after Willian*).

*Of course, Chelsea ended up swooping in at the last second to get Wililan from Spurs, but you get the point.
>>
>>64260685

Yeah, 7 assists so far this season just screams selfishness
>>
In my mind, the 2014/15 TV rights deal which gave all 20 teams a pretty big revenue stream was the greatest thing that could ever happen to the league, equalising them all, and breaking up the status quo of the top 4, regular middles and regular bottom tens.

The fact that Leicester are top of the league and Chelsea are bottom is not a testament to the EPL getting worse, but in fact getting better. The sheer competitiveness in the home league will eventually spillover into Europe, and the EPL will go back to dominating Europe like they did in 2004-2010.

United and Chelsea of the mid-2000s had the advantage of European scouts, prestige and wages. When the likes of Leicester can buy players like Inler and Stoke can buy players like Bojan, Afellay and Shaqiri, it makes it difficult for the top teams to walk over the middlers. Also, most prem teams can afford a decent manager and back staff; the likes of fucking retards like Redknapp or Martin Jol will never find a place again in the EPL.

Not what I mean. I was talking about rich and "prestigious" clubs relative to wherever the player is at the moment. It has nothing to do with whether or not an English player would star for Barca or Madrid. A guy from Watford probably isn't going to turn down the chance to play for Tottenham, and a guy from Tottenham won't turn down the chance to play for Man United. Every player is trying to climb the ladder to the next tier of clubs, it's rare for a player in Europe to turn down the opportunity to make that kind of move.
>>
>>64279649
Neither Stones nor Shaw would start for barcelona. They are not better than Alba, Mascherano or Pique
>>
>>64280468
The point was if you had a young player as talented as Stones or Shaw you would play them simply because of their potential. Those guys you mentioned are all getting old.

Stones is not worth £50m, no matter what United paid for him, just like Fellaini is not worth the mountain of millions they spent on him. Alba was bought for 15m€ and is ten times the player Stones will ever be. It's not a matter of numbers but of skill.

>Arsenal and Leicester are top of the table, level on points and goal difference

Does Leicester beat Chelsea and score more goals than Arsenal against an already relegated Villa?
>>
Who will Leicester sign in the winter window? Pato swoop?
>>
>>64282221
Villa would score more goals in that one game than they did all season. Chelsea would also already be relegated.

Says the person who has never watched Stones play. Alba is 10 times better at diving, I'll give you that
>>
>>64279534
I pretty much agree

Sturridge, if he wasn't made of glass, would be world class tbqh. He could still reach that kind of level - similarly to RVP.

Stones is the only other english player who could reach a world class level. would probs already start (with some rotation) for barca given their focus on youth and surely get more game time than pepe at real.

Otherwise the english "talent pool" is really fucking weak and has been since the gerrard, scholes, ferdinand, terry, lampard etc. (generation)

Since I was about 8 or 9 years old. First game I saw was against spurs, at filbert street.

Saw them beat Tranmere rovers to win the Worthington cup, saw them get relegated and promoted a few times...

I wonder why Liverpool spent all that money on Sturridge. Plus his new lucrative contract. He should be on a pay as you play contract. Plus, Suarez was the catalyst for Sturridge in that breakout season. What you think mate?

>>64288035
Same

>>64288063
You earned my respect mate. I'm a Liverpool supporter and majority fans were fuckin deluded with the recent results. Reality check with Newcastle & West Brom. A murican fan said he'd like Man U to win the league just to keep the "integrity" of PL. Imagine a Liverpool fan wishing Man U win the league!
>>

>I wonder why Liverpool spent all that money on Sturridge. Plus his new lucrative contract.

Because his injury problems weren't as serious yet, and Sturridge is a great player when healthy. The lucrative new contract was probably an attempt to keep Sturridge in Liverpool, because if he had stayed healthy one of the big clubs probably would have come along and made him an offer by now.

That's pretty disgusting desu. Why would anyone wish for United to win the league? Haven't we seen it happen enough times already?
>>

Image if someone had said to you this time last year:

WE NEED TO KEEP THE INTEGRITY OF THE LEAGUE!

ONLY CLUBS THAT SPEND £200M+ ON PLAYERS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO WIN!
