So /F1/, what are your bold predictions for next season?
>>
>>63962472
-Williams is closer to Ferrari than Ferrari are to Merc
-Toro Rosso is faster than Red Bull
-Manor and Haas are as fast as each other, both ahead of Sauber
-McLaren are back of the grid
>>
>>63962472
Mercedes will not have the dominant car.
>>
>>63962472
Haas will beat McLaren
>>
>>63962493
I said bold predictions. Of course the McShit box will be back of the grid.
>>
>>63962506
I thought the non-bold prediction was that they'd make up half of the 120hp deficit they have to mercedes?
>>
>>63962496
That is somewhat bold. What's the definition of dominant though? I mean I still think they'll take the constructors with races to spare but I think Vettel will sneak in more wins on pure pace. It's still gonna be Chocolate Senna Vs. Prostberg though.
>>
>>63962472

>>
>>63962504

My own predictions:

Prostberg wins the title.

Nigger Senna flips the fuck out when he's beaten consistently and tries to get out of his contract with Mercedes at the end of the season or force out 1stberg.

Finger Man takes 2nd in the championship.

The McShit actually improves.

Haas is consistently scoring points with Grosjean but the spick sucks shit.

Manor scores 15 points in the season.

Verstappen has multiple podiums, nearly wins in a wet race.

Maldozer has no crashes that are his fault.

Button dominates Alonso even more than this season.

Alonso quits at the end of the season. (Not really bold.)

Red Bull a total shit with Ilmor engine. Finish 8th in the constructors. The KGB agent beats smiley again.

Williams improve. Massa gets his first win since 2008 with a controversial call that gifts him the lead from Bottas. They also stop fucking about in the pits.

Lotus / Renault are total rubbish.

Force India remain mediocre.

Sauber still sucks dick.

Vettel wins the championship before the final race despite Ferrari not having the best car.
Hamilton losing 0.5s to Rosberg is nothing but an act and Rosberg is going to fall off a cliff in 2016, being outscored even by Raikkonen and almost losing to Massa. Rosberg leaves Mercedes at the end of the season, while Hamilton's own relationship with the team deteriorates so much that his position will be in danger as well despite his contract.
Massa wins a race.
Bottas does not win a race.
McLaren will be just behind Williams on pace and comfortably beating the likes of Red Bull.
Manor will not be improving as much as they would hope and will just barely beat Sauber.
>>
>>63962573

>Changes have been approved by the World Motor Sport Council in regard to the way that tyres are used by teams in order to encourage differing race strategies in 2016. These include:
>- The tyre supplier will now provide three dry-weather compounds instead of two
>- Of the 13 sets of dry tyres available to each driver, the tyre supplier will choose two for the race (only one of which must be used in the race), and one set (the softest available) that may only be used in Q3. Each driver may then choose their remaining ten sets from the three available compounds
>- Unless intermediate or wet-weather tyres have been used, a driver must use at least two different specifications of dry-weather tyres – at least one of these must be the one chosen by the tyre supplier.

Is Nasr really that much better than Felipe baby? Like if he's still preforming as good as or near to Bottas, he brings in Petrobras sponsorship, is a team player and keeps the atmosphere very calm. Why replace him? He seems to be holding onto his pace, I know Bottas had a bunch of issues this year, but honestly I could see him doing better next year. That is if the car is better.

>>
>>63964021
Nasr is considerably worse than Massa, but he has the sponsorship as well as Massa's (good friends + similar sponsorship) and Williams' (having been their test driver last year) backing, and aside from Lynn (who will probably be replacing Bottas at some point), Williams do not have better options available at the moment. If Nasr returns to the team, it'll only happen because Massa's decided to retire, and I can see him doing just that at the end of 2016.

If anything, Massa's the one who's had issues this year - the car always seemed to suit Bottas far better than him, as the lack of low speed grip that characterized this year's car has always been one of Massa's main weaknesses. Bottas's supposed lack of luck this year is also massively overstated, as a lot of his collisions came as a result of his poor judgment and mediocre reactions (easily seen vs Raikkonen or in the many times he's tapped someone on the first lap - Ricciardo is especially guilty of the latter as well).
>>
>>63964068

I honestly feel that Bottas is overrated, I don't think he's the next Hakkinen or Raikkionen. I really think given a car with proper downforce (so what 2017 should be) I could see Felipe easily beating him. Remember something, he nearly won the WDC, just look at Singapore, yes the Ferrari system fucked up, and yes he was given the win at Spa, but he nearly won it.
>>
>>63964034
>>tfw Schumi could have been a 9 times WDC.

If he wanted that, he could just have stayed at Ferrari through '07-'08.

Also, Haug left at the same time as Schumi. Wolff was his replacement. It was Haug leaving that triggered Brawn's departure.
>>
>>63964185

Well he wasn't really able to stay, I guess it was a bit of a inner conflict. He didn't want to race against Kimi, and di Montezemolo was trying to kick him out. Also he would have had to kick out Felipe to get the second seat, and he didn't seem prepared to do that one.

I feel it was a bit of a stab in the back really, even at the end of 06, he was still faster than Kimi, but Luca wanted him like he wanted Hakkinen.
>>
>>63964034
>tfw Schumi could have been a 9 times WDC.

Rosberg beat him (considerably) in his three years he returned to Mercedes. If anything it would have been Rosberg as the 2 time champion, while Schumacher would have been BTFO
>>
>>63964170
I agree. I used to think that him and Ricciardo were almost dead even in terms of skill, but while Ricciardo's only real issue is his aggressive opportunism backfiring on him, Bottas seems extremely stubborn, unwilling to change his lines or his approach and immediately blaming others as soon as he gets the chance to do so.

>>63964247
MSC was considerably less lucky in 2011 and 2012 and would've outscored Rosberg in both years if not for that.
>>
>>63964213
I love that article, but it was written by a man once successfully sued for libel by McLaren. Schumacher's own account in James Allen's books says that he was well aware about the Kimi negotiations happening by August 2005.
>>
>>63964259

At one point in 2012, I remember hearing on Sky that if Schumacher finished in the postion he was in before he retired (Spain only being his fault if that), he would have been leading the WDC.

>>63964277

I could never find it again, I wonder if there was a bit of disbelief on his part. I guess overall I just miss MSC, so I think about what could have been.
>>
>>63964247
Schumacher outscored Rosberg by 47-23 in the last 13 races of 2012, when the Merc reliability was fixed, matched Rosberg 10-10 in quali, and beat him 7-1 in two car finishes.

In 2011 he finished just 12 points behind, despite having 5 DNFs to Rosberg's 2.

It would in no way have been a BTFO

As for wanting to race against Raikkonen, Sabine Kehm stated that over the 2005-06 winter, Michael spoke to his close confidants about being excited about the prospect of teaming with Raikkonen and testing himself against a competitive benchmark.

But over the 2006 season, he started feeling fatigued, especially tired of sponsor commitments and marathon debrief sessions, and eventually decided to retire.

Massa is getting old and is a bad season away from retirement. Nasr is a better driver than him but not GOAT tier and with a few more seasons with some good results he'll perform better than 2008 Massa.

I feel like Williams is severly limiting Bottas pace. The two cars almost always have about the same pace when fighting for position, but when Bottas is ahead he slowly builds a gap and when Massa is ahead he ends up slowing down Bottas. It was very clear in Silverstone this year and Malaysia last year, but it also happens often when they're fighting for 5th or 6th. Massas ego and Williams inability to force team orders end up costing Bottas his race in what i counted to be 8 instances over the last two years. Bottas simply has consistently better pace, but it goes unseen in way to many races.

Interesting points on the Ferrari-Haas situation in that article:

"Ferrari’s loaned personnel were effectively free to sandbox aerodynamic concepts for 2016 and beyond, taking whatever knowledge they glean back to Ferrari. Interestingly, the Haas team chose not to convert their state-of-the-art “Windshear” rolling-road wind-tunnel from 100% scale to the FIA-mandated 60% scale. This suggests they may also be using their temporary freedom to run 100% Formula 1 chassis models, and perhaps even correlating the data with the 60% models at Maranello."

This suggests Haas could build a considerably better car than their budget would suggest. Pretty exciting

If you have a bad product that doesn't put you in the top places, it's obvious that the return is low
>>
>>63968165
They mean the return was low because there was no chance to improve the engines. but that's also silly since they agreed to those regs in the first place as did rerrari, all hoping to be in the position Merc was.
>>
>>63968165
oh well. i don't care because it led to williams finishing 3rd again.

>joylon palmer is a works renault driver

top fucking kek. i hope pastor gets in top of the tyres in qualifying next year. his race pace was pretty good this year. yet, the dumb cunts at sky ranked him as worst driver of the year.
>>
>>63968216
Crazy how there is a lot of anti pastor sentiment in the F1 world just because he had a few rough years even when there were people who had worse crash rates. In interviews he seems like a nice person too.
>>
>>63968216
>the dumb cunts at sky ranked him as worst driver of the year.

The thing is that he's not a bad driver.. he just makes waaaaaay too many risky moves that ended up with him, the other driver, or both out of the race

By now he should have already learned these stuff.

Mistakes like this are ok for newcomers, or people with few years in F1.. but not for Pastor
>>
>>63968271
What risky moves? Do you mean the same things people praised Senna and Schumacher for or the same things they get wet for when Max does them?
>>
>>63968296

>>

>>
>>63968296
>What risky moves? Do you mean the same things people praised Senna and Schumacher for or the same things they get wet for when Max does them?

except they actually won something and didn't crash that often

and again, it's max's first year, not the 4th or 5th
>>
>>63968253
people are praising grosjean this year for some reason. pastor's been just as fast in the races - and had more misfortune than romain.

take out grosjean's podium, and he would be about 5 points ahead in total. pastor was unlucky to havr whacked the curb at spa. if he didn't, he may have finished at least 6th or 7th.

people forget that grosjean had a massive crash in a race by himself this year - pastor didn't.

>>63968271
he's been much better this year. both mclaren drivers rammed into him - nobody said anything.

both drivers have a lot of options when neither are near the limits of grip, maldonado crashes in corners (usually on the inside of someone) because he doesn't give himself any options. when the other car doesn't do exactly what he expects them to do he never has a plan b trajectory he can switch to cause he's already at the limit of grip
