Bama. (11-1)
2. Oklahoma (11-1)
3. Iowa (12-0)

Clemson with one loss still gets in over tOSU:

which is why even with clemson losing, if you were to rank the 3 teams, itd still be

2. tOSU (1 top 20 win, only loss to another palyoff team)
3. UNC (1 top 10 win, 2 >FCS wins, terrible loss)

I'm conflicted about the current seeding of Alabama and Oklahoma.

On the one hand, I don't want this year's playoff to go by without Stoops and Saban meeting up again just so one of them can make the other extremely butthurt. So in that respect it would be good to be certain that they meet up by seeding them #2 and #3.

On the other hand, this removes the possibility of them meeting in the championship game, and I would love to see them against each other for all the marbles. So maybe somebody else should face them in the semifinals.

This. If Stanford loses to USC (my sleeper pick for an upset) and UNC somehow beats Clemson (especially if they did it convincingly) then UNC would make it into the playoffs at #4. UNC would have a win over the former #1 and Ohio State would have a win over #15. UNC would be a conference champion. Just don't think you can justify anOSU in that instance.

>>63940958
"Supposedly" the fear was that anOSU would have to play 9 conference games so they dropped UNC over powerhouse programs like Western Michigan, Hawaii, and Northern Illinois.

UNC has had games canceled by Tennessee, Minnesota, and anOSU in the past decade. I'm not so sure it is their fault that the schedule didn't pan out the way they wanted it to.

He'd at least upgrade the recruiting and would have 2-3 teams at most to worry about.
>>
>>63941028

Sorry I'm usually the one in front of the camera. ;)
>>
>>63941030
Yes which I find to be fucking hilarious

>>63941062
He can't even win getting some of the best recruits in the nation and you think he's going to do it in Virginia of all places?
>>
>>63940993
If they played Bama or OU, the two best teams remaining if Clemson lost, then yeah. They'd have a good shot against Iowa or MSU but there's little chance that game would happen.
>>
>>63940958
>>63941099
Who cares?
>>
>>63941105
Look at it this way. tOSU has looked ineffective in a number of games. On the other hand, UNC has blown out most teams they've played. Your average B1G and ACC coastal team are about on par.
>>
IF UNC wins the ACC championship, there is no way 2 loss FSU and ND get in over the ACC champ who knocked off the number 1 team, is there? What about Stanford?
>>
>>63941110
It got pushed back originally m8
>>
>>63941118
He could easily steal some of VT's players now that Beamer is gone and its the ACC.

I'm only talking about making them a ranked team every year, possible ACC threat, not a natty.
>>
>>63941141
TOSU gets in over them. UNC would have to hope for Alabama loss.
>>
>>63941141
Stanford probably would because they'd be PAC12 champs (which honestly looks better than ACC champ) with an 18 ranked SOS compared to UNC's shitty schedule. Also Stanford lost to two teams in the teens while UNC lost to some shitter.
>>
>>63941125
Iowa and MSU would both bootyblast them.
>>
>>63941172
>tOSU gets in over them
I cannot see why that could possibly be the case.
>>
>>63941141
If UNC beats the team that beat ND and FSU then the committee should rank them above all three. Iowa/MSU will also lose at least one game, and if the loser is MSU then that would be good cause for UNC to jump OSU too.

That's 5 guaranteed spots UNC would move up. They still probably need Stanford to lose to USC if they want to get into the playoffs but it isn't outside the realm of possibility.
>>
>people unironically putting the 't' in front of OSU
>>
>>63940644

Low television ratings
>>
god I hope none of these scenarios happens

I don't want to see another shitty ACC team that doesn't deserve to be in get blown the fuck out in the semifinal

UNC getting in would be a guaranteed blowout for whoever plays them
>>
Oklahoma wins the natty. Cap this. Bet on it. It's happening.
>>
>>63940628

This is true.
>>
Stanford is only ranked as high as they are because 1.) Notre Dame sells and is overrated because of this and 2.) the committee needs a west coast representative if they can force one in so they don't lose a ton of that market.
>>
Is the muh SEC bias meme finally kill?

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ok

Help me out here. I'm trying to find UNC's best win. I literally don't even know which one it is. Looks like it's 8-4 Miami who lost to Cincinatti, beat nebraska in OT, beat duke by 3 points.
>>
>>63941271
>UNC getting in would be a guaranteed blowout for whoever plays them

Same with the Iowa literal whos
>>
OSU would booty blast UNC
>>
>>63941321
Pittsburgh, which is only an okay win. Them getting in would be an absolute joke.
>>
Long: Using committee's metrics, Ohio State & UNC's strength of schedule numbers "not close." Ohio State's "clearly superior."
>>
>>63941299
no because LSU is ranked and lol miss is #13
>>
>>63941344
yeah, UNC would bootyblast all of those teams
>>
>>63941321
The Pitt, VTech, and NC State wins shouldn't be overlooked. All road games, Pitt was ranked, Beamer's last home game, and NC State is always hard to beat on the road, especially in this rivalry. The Gtech game also proved UNC can be clutch.

UNC also beat Illinois by more than anOSU beat Illinois tbqh familia
>>
>>63941299
People on twitter are already bitching about LSU and Tennessee were put back in the poll to justify Bama's ranking

>tfw the defending national champion is automatically out of the playoff picture because of one loss to what will be a top 3 team by a field goal simply because everyone is rooting against them and is tired of their success

Meanwhile shit Bama who got throttled by the same team less than a year ago gets a free ride because ESPN needs a team in the playoffs
>>
Iowa/UNC natty

CAP IT
>>
>>63941361
src please. the graphic they showed during the selection show said they were very similar.
>>

UNC still played one more game :^)

Big reason why TCU and Baylor didn't get in last year, not just because they were "co-champions".
>>
>>63941387
>UNC also beat Illinois by more

never ever compare blowouts to make an argument. OSU also dominated VT on the road in a game that was hyped for a year

GT and NC State are pure trash

Facts:

>With a Clemson/Alabama loss, the fourth slot will go to (in order of liklehood): Stanford, UNC, Ohio State

Stanford and UNC would be conference champions, and i'm not sure how you say that UNC has a better resume than Stanford despite the second loss. UNC would need a Stanford loss to get in. Ohio State sleepwalked through most of this season and would not have even played for their conference championship. Ohio State would need losses by both Clemson and Bama to get in.

>Clemson is not getting in if they lose

Not even sure how you autists justify this. Not winning the weakest power five conference and losing in the last week is a recipe for getting left out.

This. Alabama could lose to a bunch of girls playing and still be in. Not even an OSU fan desu
>>
>>63941433

Clemson still has a better resume than Ohio State with a loss
>>
>>63941390
>implying they are wrong
>>
>>63941401
the difference is Bama will be a conference champion while Ohio State won't even be a conference runner up and Bama lost early on and had time to rise back up the rankings and Ohio State didn't
>>
>>63941433
Agree, but I think UNC gets in over Stanford if they look dominant in their win and Stanford just squeaks by.
>>
>>63941433
They shouldn't get in with a win
>>
>>63941433
>Not even sure how you autists justify this. Not winning the weakest power five conference and losing in the last week is a recipe for getting left out.
>weakest power five conference

But anon, Clemson doesn't play in the PAC12
>>
>>63941435

as an tOSU fan I hope you guys do win. B1G has three teams in the top 6 and still gets no respect. Meanwhile, the shit SEC gets propped up by horrible rankings and these nobody conferences are trying to make a case for a 2 loss team to get in if they beat a shit 4 loss side. Maybe maybe a second straight. national title will wake their asses up
>>
>>63941433
>weakest power 5 conference
Clemson moved to the Big XII?
>>
>>63941487
It's too little though
>>
If Clemson loses:

1. Bama
2. Iowa/MSU
3. OU
4. Stanford

If Clemson AND Bama lose

1. Iowa/MSU
2. OU
3. Stanford
4. Clemson or UNC
>>
>>63941459
If they were trying to rig things for the Tide don't you think they'd put in a 9-3 Georgia team who's won 5 of their last 6?
>>
>>63941387

No it fucking doesn't, all it does is that they struggled against a shit team.
>>
>>63941506

>an the ohio state university
>an the
>>
>>63941450
Maybe with an MSU loss that makes tOSU's loss look worse. I just don't see any ACC team other than the champion getting in.

>>63941497
Who are you referring to?

>>63941499
PAC12 and ACC don't even compare in terms of depth. PAC12 might not have a top four team at the top but top to bottom they don't even compare.

>>63941517
Big 12 is probably 1b in terms of weakness. The ACC just has no depth to it whatsoever.

I know this is bait but, there's only 2(two) conferences with 3(three) teams in the top 10. I'll wait....
>>
>>63941528
BEST outcome:

If Clemson AND Bama AND Stanford lose:

1. Iowa/MSU
2. OU
3. UNC
4. Clemson
>>
>>63941485

No, the difference is that Bama rode through a soft conference where they were able to sneak into a championship game against an awful team where Ohio State is playing in a conference where their competition is ranked 4 and 5 and their only loss was to one of them by 3 points. Bama lost to Ole Piss
>>
>>63941552

Clemson still has 2 better wins than OSU and one more overall win
>>
>>63941552
Clemson
Winning in a group of six team means shit
