I don't know how I'm going to handle this when I have kids. I'm a Chicago sports fan because I'm from Chicago, but I live in Ohio now and I don't want my kids to go through the bullshit of all their teams being out of market. I feel like if I just let them root for who they want, they'll root for Chicago teams because that's who me and my family root for. I don't want to push them into rooting for the local teams though, because I want them to root for teams they like.

A) You moved away from your home town. Keep supporting your home town, but don't be a dick to the local fans.
B) Your dad moved away from his local team before you were born. He isn't a bandwagoner, and he raised you to root for that team. Same as before: root for your team, don't be a dick to the locals.
