I can't stand soccer in America, and these faggots are the reason why. I'm fine with the sport itself, really. And I have the utmost respect for European fans who have supported their club their whole life. The chants, the riots, the passion... it all seems genuine. And for the most part, sports fans in America are just as authentic. Ever go to a college football or basketball rivalry game? There is nothing but pure, emotional hate. It feels real.
This shit, on the other hand, is so far detached from reality. I realize that I'm preaching to choir, but I just can't stand these insufferable faggots. I see them all the time in my classes, wearing their jerseys (they'll call them kits) from some European or MLS team that they arbitrarily became fans of a year ago.
I do have a theory on all of this: the folks like those in OP's video are fueled by narcissism, not by the passion of their team. They don't actually like sports, and only watch soccer because it goes against grain of your typical American sports (football, basketball, baseball, hockey).
I do wonder when this trend will end. They clearly are trying to be very, very edgy and very hard - but they're also trying to be unique and special. And if MLS continues to expand, their little club of "hooligans" will also grow; the day it becomes mainstream and trendy to like MLS, what will happen to them? Will they stay strong? Or will they disband and move onto another irrelevant sport? My guess is that they'll change sports - perhaps become fans of an international pickleball team. As longs as jocks and/or people who even remotely have their lives together don't like the sport, they'll be fans of it.
