no, very good but he had a glaring weakness and that was...physical strength! strange eh? people see tyson as a powerful man but in reality all he had were powerful punches. but physically he was not very strong. he could easily be manhandeled and tied up and could do nothing about it.

historically someone like Ali would be an absolute nightmare for him: he was incredibly strong, had a goat chin and was fearless.

Tyson was no Smokin' Joe. But there's no denying his obvious strengths.

I also believe his first fight against Evander is one of the great injustices in boxing history because Evander was going to get ktfo before he started blatantly cheating.(headbutts, low blow). the ref was blind or didn't give two fucks. I took great pleasure watching J Toney annihilate that cheating fuck (and he tried to butt that fight as well but the ref was all over it).

The greatest mentor anybody could have asked for
Tyson was a fat thug until he met Ali and changed his ways with Gus

Watch any interview of Tyson when Gus was alive especially the one with the British interviewer asking him about his knowledge of boxing
>>
Who would win in their primes? Tyson or Foreman?

I'd bet on Foreman manhandling him and knocking Tyson out Tbh
>>
>>63800895
Tyson was faster than frazier and stronger than ali while foreman's gimmick was that he was precise and the strongest hitter in the history of boxing apparently

tyson 6-5
>>
>>63800609
Yes. He was special.
>>
The thing about Tyson was he would fucking fight. The dude was angry and would show you it
>>
Yeth. What kind of quethion ith that?
>>
>>63800609
but, in their respective primes, who would win? bruce lee or tyson?
>>
>>63800615
Pretty much when his life turned to shit as well. Cus was the only perosn who actually cared about Mike like in his entire life.

isn't Ali the meme fighter that had the meme rope offense?
>>
>>63802884
Didn't he change his style around that time also?
He used a great defense to get in the pocket and from there punish oponents on their mistakes. Later he started trying to be a headhunter, always chasing down his oponents for that one big puch to win the fight

Pretty cute story t b h. He literally adopted Tyson

damn that is 2 cute

It's true. All of it.
>>
Foreman > Ali (if he fought Foreman again he'd have lost) > Tyson > Frazier
>>
He was good. Not amazing, incredible, great. Just good. However he could've been the GOAT if he wasn't such an emotional mess. Cus was the only thing keeping him together and motivated. He trained, abstained and did all sorts of shit to make Cus proud of him. When he passed and King swooped in he went off the rails.

It's kind of sad.
Go watch some earky Tyson video. The guy seemed like a decent young man under Gus. Then ince he passed away, Tyson's life kind of fell apart. Tyson himself said he never had a true friend his entire life, and everyone besides Gus just was using him.

>>63801362
Foreman was also stronger than Ali by a good mile, he was a fucking beast and would've won that fight had he not got mad and started swinging wildly. He easily was cruising to a decision because he bullied Ali onto the ropes with ease until Ali started shit talking and Foreman started swinging wildly.

Foreman only ever was troubled by power punchers his size as in height. He was never, ever troubled by a smaller fighter.

Steven Seagal Tbh
>>
In the early days he was not only a ferocious natural talent, he was well schooled technically by Cus and Rooney. However after they left Tyson ignored the fundamentals and started just looking for the KO, once opponents got over the fear factor they could find weaknesses to exploit

Holyfield worked him out, and would have done so in 91 if Buster Douglas hadn't got there first
