Reminder: shall you put the ball in the sweetspot, momentum = mass times speed. In other terms, ball action (spin+speed) = racquet head mass (swingweight mostly) times racquet head speed. Stiffness or headsize are irrelevant here.. if you put the ball inside the sweetspot. Actually, he uses a lighter racquet compared to most of the really big hitters and returners in terms of mass and swingweight; IIRC something in the 340g strung range for around 350SW. Djokovic uses a truck for instance (361g and 373SW), so does Federer (around 370g and likely 340+SW if the RF97 is actually his frame). Basically, he swings faster than most other players, more aggressively and for a longer period of time. Which is also why he stands so far behind the baseline for the return: he needs time to swing away. Remove the Fed/Nad wanabees and see what stays: women are much more often fully dressed with skirt/dress than men who more often than not just put on their old ass T-Shirt and whatever sport shorts they have laying around. del potro was the comeback guy in 2011 or something and he wasn't top top tier. Either his US Open win was a burst of incredible form (and i remember he beat federer again in wtf 2009), or his injuries have fucked him even if he does get to play.
Agree though, Soderling is missed, murray is in some weird comeback type of form (his ausssie open 13 win against federer was really incredible, federer was really gutsy to even take him to five sets)

Actually, not really. It gives a more HL balance which can result in more manoeuvrability; however, these racquets are fairly light anyway, so more HL balance isn't truly needed. The tricky part with these frames are that they usually have even balance or outright HH, so weight on the hoop would help but wouldn't be enough. He'd need both (to gain power and keep the racquet manoeuvrable enough), which is why I can only advise to replace the frame or go mad with lead tape and silicone (or blu-tack, stuff works well).
If he's a low ranked player, he could also use this as an opportunity to swing away. I do it from time to times with worse players/beginners: I pick up a light racquet and swing away. Since it's so light, there's no risk of sending the ball in the fence or giving them too difficult balls to handle. Makes up a good workout.
