Football has the most diverse skillsets and position specialization so you can't really compare the sport to anything else unless you do it by position.
Kicker / punter = it's in the name, their only job is to kick the ball
QB = the most or second most cerebral position (reading defenses), needs great hand-eye coordination and muscle memory, also good footwork
Linemen = fat, strong fucks. OL play is very similar to sumo wrestling but with more brains involved because of pre snap reads and adjustments / recognizing coverage and pass rush patterns.
LBs and RBs are probably the most similar to rugby players
etc.
You can't really compare it to say, soccer, where every position is more or less the same shit aside from the goalkeeper.

I was a goalie in hockey. Its kind of luck in the sense that once I got to be like 16 the puck was moving so quick a lot of time if you tried to react to it after its been shot youd miss it. But it was all educated guesses based off of reading angles, body position, the position of the puck on his stick, etc, you move yourself in a spot best suited to hopefully make the save. But youre still kind of guessing alot if times youd see the puck for like 5-10ft and have to know where it was going to end up by then and then by the time your brain actualy registers the shot its in your glove or off your pad or something
