Just to clarify things here for everyone, the hymen does not "break" per se (most of the time). It is like an opening that expands with the introduction of an object into the vagina. A finger may not be big enough to expand the hymen, so it could still be "intact". Same goes for a tiny penis, though. A hymen being "intact" does not mean one is a virgin.
Also, I believe the hymen can eventually heal (basically return to its unexpanded form).
