I just moved to Melrose park Illinois from California about two days ago. I don't know anyone and I'm already feeling homesick. Every job I applied to so far has pretty much said the same thing "why'd you move here it's so much nicer there, go back. Only makes the sickness worse. I kinda wanna know a spot I can go to make a few new friends and enjoy some night life. Any Illinois fags close by my area can hit me with some suggestions?

You're close enough to downtown that if you're looking for nightlife just head towards the loop. Depends on what kind of nightlife you're looking for, plenty of bars and dance clubs.
Plus now that summer's around things happen on the lakefront.

Bruh I grew up in the town right over. Hope you're still checking the thread, friend. Take the blue line from Rosemont to Wicker Park (Damen stop). Place is crawling with hipsters but it's a pretty cool place. Lots of bars and foot traffic. If not there, go to the MB Park area in Rosemont. Lots of bars and young folk. If anything, kik me.

I'm moving back to Chicago from California as well. There are a lot of benefits to living in the Midwest. It's less expensive than California; the public transportation is better; and the people are more down to earth.
The economy is also much more diverse, which makes it resilient to recessions and changes in the market.
Melrose Park is only an hour from the Loop. There's plenty of work downtown, even for someone with limited employment experience.
