Would you ever work at a non-accredited university?
> QC
> depends on how much OT I want to put in. Was $100k for 2015
> 30
> I would love to get paid to write music
>>23808071
Not really, I'm an environmental engineering doctoral candidate and research is really costly, I doubt an unaccredited university would be able to provide me with the requirements for it.
Plus I'm in a top tier school and I have a GPA of 3.9/4 and my research is great, so I think an accredited university would be better in my case.
Although I get the appeal of a non-accredited university since teaching is easier and not as much research is required, I still feel I'd be doing the money I spent on school more justice if I thought in an accredited univeristy.
>>23808108
Well there is a solid line between for-profit and non-accredited. So are you looking to become a teacher at a school dedicated to research or just for a paycheck?
>>23808123
Teacher at a school dedicated to research is what I meant before, looking back I wasn't very clear about it. I love my domain and want to use my knowledge for something useful.
>>23808145
Nice, respect to that. I'm still young and haven't chosen my path yet. Still in the area of self-discovery but I plan to use my knowledge for something, not just go day-to-day.
>>23808150
Thank you, I appreciate the encouragements.
well honestly, the most important part is that you find what you shine at. I did my undergrad in civil engineering, and it was not meant for me, until I started taking hydraulics and environmental engineering courses and realized that was what I wanted to study. You'll figure out what you want to do, it comes but at the same time you have to look for it.
