Portland area. Visited the coast this past weekend. I've done some more gentle hikes but I can't do much real climbing or anything over 5 miles cus of bad knees (don't rollerskate while drunk, kiddos)

Lol that doesn't sounds like a good idea. Well what interests you? Im into all the fishing and hiking stuff. Any place with a good breweries is good. Corvallis has some good foods and drinks. Hiking Cape perpetua and cascade head are easy and reward amazing ocean views. And the beach scene in pacific city is great with pelican brewery. Going further south you could go to crater lake and Ashland with the Shakespeare festival.

I like historical stuff and photogenic stuff (the gardens in the city are pretty nice), not so much into drinking anymore. Is the Shakespeare festival more arts based or more like a renaissance faire? Used to go to renfairs with my more old-school geek family.

Its live performance of Shakespeare. There is a couple Renfests around. 1 in kings valley this summer just out side of corvallis. Not sure the others. Lots of history around to photograph. Lighthouses on the coast and some forts spread throughout the state. There is a big hippie fair outside eugene in June called oregon country fair. Not a renfair but lots of cool art and ppl dressing or not dressing ;) and listening to music etc.
