Pop art was essentially proto-vaporwave: finding artistry in the mundane and being a both criticism and an homage to consumerism. I've always been weirdly drawn to logos and television commercials, (almost to the point that I don't even go to the mall to buy shit anymore, but just observe and look around), so it was nice to see two art movements that not only didn't subscribe to the whole "muh rise above consumerism" philosophy, but embraced it and acknowledged that it's become so embedded into our nature as human beings that to fight it seems futile.
