It's all the same. Epiphones are perfectly fine in terms of quality. I would suggest changing out the magnets in the pickup's and filing the nuts though. Your frets probably aren't level either.

It's really easy to do yourself. And a good setup should last you years. If it doesn't go to a different tech or hop on YouTube. Willseasyguitar has some great videos on it. His guitars are also some of the best you'll ever play

That's a good idea anon. Professors these days are extremely lack-luster. There's the occasional good one but even they are limited. Push yourself beyond their teachings, experiment, break the rules, and learn everything you can.
