There are tons of people who support themselves and enjoy video games. What are you even talking about? You just gave an example of one you know while trying to also be condescending about it.
People should do what they enjoy not what other people tell them they should. My uncle likes video games too but he's still been married twice and supported himself. He doesn't now but that's because he broke his back. Not because he was playing video games.
Some girls actually like video games too. Which leads us to the part of this argument where people should go to who they are compatible with. Plenty of girls will either join in playing video games or are fine with guys doing so. But if they aren't ok with it but the guy enjoys it then they clearly aren't compatible.
Playing video games every waking hour isn't ok sure. But most people don't do that. That's an extreme example that typically only applies to people who don't or can't support themselves anyway(and not even all of those people).

Like for me personally I'm autistic and schizophrenic. I've gone out of my way to meet people in real life, learn instruments, volunteer and do other things with my life. But video games for me are the only thing I derive ANY pleasure whatsoever from and not because I haven't looked. It's just what I enjoy. But I also don't recommend people in better situations than I am devote a ton of time to them.
You can balance video games with other things. Just like anything else people enjoy. People always can make time for thing that give them enjoyment. It doesn't automatically mean they aren't doing anything else.
