So much more features and better to be honest.
Also your convos get stored in your account, so if you uninstall the app and reinstall it, all your chats are still there.

I just feel it's one of the better options when you put it side-by-side to WhatsApp and Kik.
XMPP, IRC, Tox, and one or two others are better options for your privacy, but less user-friendly.
Telegram is kind of the middle ground at the moment.
That's how it appears to me. My other motivation for making this thread is to meet new people, and I only use Telegram.
