Dis nigga is a good rock
I have two, I hope you don't mind anon
On the left is a piece of quartzite that was likely used in a road at some point (the black stuff is residual bitumen). It's notable because it has a nice blue colour with some banding and also because it's really fuckin' hard - it scratches glass and tungsten carbide barely marks it
The other one is interesting more because of what the rock has in it than the rock itself. The rock is some pretty mundane red sandstone, but it has coral fossils (the ring-shaped structures most visible on the lower left and lower right). At least, I think it's coral. The one on the right might be a piece of crinoid stem
Hand lens is for scale. It's about 5cm/2"

Close up of one of the striated crystals at the top.
Herkemier Diamond (Double terminated quartz in a matrix)
This one is my best peice left to me by my Dad.
Its a core sample from the old Premier Mine in BC. The bit transected a gold vein and took a piece of it.
The total weight is 29 ounces and is around 18 carat gold.
Since is comes from a well known mine here, it is worth more than the gold itself.
I turned down offers for more than the worth of the gold.

Y'all got any more minerals? Those are pretty fukken dank, especially the third
Out of curiosity, are you a geologist or a collector (or both I suppose)? I see a shell and what looks like a fossil in the background

I sold a lot of them in college, being a poorfag without a car, so I sold most of it.
Have a really large 20+ lbs piece of uranite, 15 lbs galena from Kimberly (from my uncle Herb) and a 3 lb asbestoslump from Cassiar mines in BC
I also have a small collection of weird gold/silver mineral with sulfides, tellurides and "wire" examples.
The gold one is on my desk as a paper weight.
Wife didn't believe me when I told her, so I took it to the show to show a collector.
He practically jerked off over a chance to see such a nice sample.
The ore body it came from was rated at around 100 oz/ton.
I also have some platinum sand (total 1/8 oz) I panned from the Similkameen river in 1999
