Asheville is so beautiful. I lived in Savannah, GA for a bit aND learned to hate it. Asheville is what I always hoped for in Savannah. I wouldn't mind moving up there but I'm not crazy about tourist towns, but the music scene...omg. I'm going up there in April for Yo La Tengo. I'm in Taylors now. It's basically Greenville, SC.
How do you like living there?

I sort of grew up here, so I've seen it change a lot in recent years. It's still a great city, but it is getting a lot more touristy, and I don't really care for that. The cost of living is rising steadily, while there continues to be a lack of decent paying jobs of any kind for a city this size.

Basically, the city is not without its shitty shitty problems, but it is still a great place to live.

It is similar, but it's not the same place. It's much younger, and far smaller, which is exciting. It's also a true college town. When it's school season, the population doubles. The mountains are also bigger here. It's just overall a more intimate experience than Asheville.
