Your "ASL"s can be an elf princess and the rugged but gentle half-orc knight that saves her, or the dragon that keeps her. Or maybe you're sci-fi greasemonkey, or the pilot of the starfighter she's repairing. Anything is valid.

Before anything else, come up with the character you want to fuck as. Try not to make a boring character, make someone you think people would want to interact with, it doesn't have to just be sexually! Once you've come up with your character, register an account on https://www.f-list.net and create a profile for them. If you're having trouble with concept, feel free to talk here with us in the thread or join our channel with a blank profile. We're happy to help you figure things out!

After you've created your character and think you're ready to actually ERP, open F-chat 1.0 or 2.0 from the chat tab on the top left of the Homepage. Look through the Public Channels and find the ones which interest you or apply to your character. If someone's ad interests you, look at their profile and private message them if they still interest you, or wait for someone to do the same to you. You can also post your character here, there's a chance one of us will be interested.

I'm going to be honest, it's not a good idea. It's kind of a terrible idea. You should really focus on custom kinks anyway, and they should ideally be tailored to each profile. As for pointers: Fill out your profile. Tell us who your character is, and what kind of thing you want to do with them.

In that case, I want to warn you away from the pitfall of "too much story" when you're on F-List - unless somebody specifically is asking for it. Otherwise, you're going to disappoint a lot of potential partners if you spend 5 hours roleplaying out the background and story of your character and environment, and nobody's pants have come off yet.
Again: There are exceptions, of course. But by and large, the main purpose of F-list and the characters you make are excuses for type-fucking. We're basically creating glorified(?) porn movie plots here. We're not improv-acting out characters in an epic novel.

I spent maybe 3 hours describing the crash landing of a spaceship and another hour of him driving to the nearby colony before the tentacles actually appeared. Not quite the same thing, but I have an issue of taking a bit too long to get to the good parts when I'm doing a story driven RP. It tends to make me lose a bit of steam later on.
I've been doing more purely sex driven stuff lately though, so that's been starting to change. I do love crafting a long term RP with a partner though, it's a really bittersweet feeling either way.

There are girls on the site, even if a lot of the people playing female characters are Guys In Real Life. It's not really something you should ask or care too much about, or else you'd end up disappointed or jaded. Besides, most like to keep their personal lives and roleplaying separate anyway and don't take kindly to real life creeping.
Somewhat related, but the quickest ways to ruin a good thing are to pressure your partner for personal information/pictures (unless they're forthcoming with it) or immediately hound them every time they log on, the second they log on. That last part happens a lot to me, and it's such a huge turnoff even if I really like someone's character.

But what I meant is that your kinks that you put on your profile, especially the customs, are things that YOU are into, not necessarily the character. If you really love degradation and humiliation, but that would make your character cry, you put that in Faves anyway because that's what you want. So while your character might be a virginal little magic dork, you still want to do some raunchy depraved sex things as him.
For instance, you've set him to Unsure. Usually that means that the character is pretty straight, but you're interested in doing Orientation Play, so you'd want to put down "Seduced by Older Man" or something like that, even though as a character Alex isn't going out to get seduced.

I think you're getting things mixed up.
Make characters that you want to play, but the kink list needs to cover what you as a player want from the scene. Self-insert profiles aren't very well regarded.
Kink lists can also cover in character desires if they overlap, and custom kinks form an in-character voice often have the potential to be really good.

There are profile sections for sexuality, gender, height, weight, etc. within F-List, which you can fill out instead of just writing in the character description.
You seem to have clicked on all the kinks, or as many of them as you could. You do not need to do this. Many of them are redundant, and it can make it unclear what you are into.
You put your pictures in an imgur folder instead of uploading them to your profile. You also don't have an avatar.
There's several profiles that have been linked in this thread already, many of them are quite alright and might give you an idea of what people expect.

What's a good way to demonstrate exceptional skill for RP without a wordy/verbose profile?
I have gone through so many characters but I'm always so lazy when it comes to writing by myself. I can do great adaptive play up to multi para and I am often getting carried away with the amount I write and the detail I choose to include.
I'm not one of these let's write a cooperative novella types that always wants multi-para, long-term action.
I don't have a hard time with female characters as much because they are sought after but anyone have any cool or unique male profiles that aren't too cringeworthy or overly-constructed.

Yeah that's my main go to right now. I typically set like 15-20 custom kinks with some of them being dropdown subfetish things.

For the most part it's a pretty generic setting; the only non-standard thing is that time so far has been split into several ages where each time period was heavily influenced by a specific elemental lord that usually winds up being defeated by mortals.
