i've seen you in a few threads over the past month, great job on your weight loss!! as a fellow fattie i'm working on losing weight myself, roughly 20 lbs down in a month (still have >50 to go) but in cutting calories and carbs i've hit a plateau.
has this happened to you, and if so do you have any advice on how to get past it???

I have actually hit a snag just recently, but I think it's mostly because I wasn't being as strict with my diet after the holidays. I had to double-check everything to make sure I was counting my calories right and stopped with the snacking here and there with that handful of something carby or extra salty.
It's apparently something that happens to a lot of people and so you're told to go back and really look at what you've been eating.
Another thing that could be happening is your body composition is changing instead of the weight going down on the scale. Have you been measuring parts of your body while doing this? I noticed that while I wasn't losing weight on the scale, my body was changing where I lost half an inch to a full inch in certain places. You could be replacing the fat with muscle and that's why it seems like you're not losing weight right now.
Now if this is a true plateau, I know a few things people say to try is upping your calories by a bit (I think 200 but not sure) to trick your body, while others say you could need to switch up your diet and exercise for a bit and add some new things.
I hope I helped. I know it's hard to not get discouraged when the scale doesn't move, but keep it up! Something is most likely happening to your body even if you don't see it in numbers.

makes a lot of sense, thank you so much! honestly i was chalking it up to water retention or my thyroid. i noticed i've been feeling sluggish for over a week now so i think i'll take your advice and up my calories. that should give me the energy to exercise more. my activity level dwindled recently after feeling too tired to stay in the swing of things.
and yeah i have been keeping track of measurements- my midsection hasn't changed in a while even though i've stuck to my diet and continued being strict about calories, so i do still think it's partly water to blame. i think if i go back to oolong and herbal tea though it'll flush my system and things will start to normalize. :) thanks again!!
