Most young people in Tunisia can read English. I am not talking about reading some Jane Austen or anything like that but rather a 6th grade English class textbook. This is obviously a generalization, some people are much much better than that, others are worsre.
The educational system in Tunisia starts teaching French in third grade of primary school and English in the fifth grade
