Although it's because I was a really fat fuck at a whopping 5'3. I think my face is actually okay besides the mild form or rosacea that makes me look like I decided to burn my face off that day.
I'm still trying to get /fit/ though. It's rough working so hard and knowing that you're still going to be unhappy, undesirable and lonely unless you can cough up $30,000 for surgery. At least I'll be able to go outside and not feel like people are laughing at me.

Can't remember the exact year, but sometimes during my university studies. In high school I was just in denial, telling myself that I was simply unpopular because I was a nerd and had interests in niche things. It was a small community so I figured things would get better once I got out into the real world so to speak. And then when I interacted with dozens of girls on a daily basis for years yet not a single one of them reciprocated any kind of attraction I realized I got the short end of the stick. Okay, I'm exaggerating, there was this fat chick with a godawful mouth odor who did like me, but even I have standards.
I realized my personality is shit when I got fit and got even less attention from girls irl.
Now I just don't try anymore. At least there's less disappointment this way.
I don't think I'm ugly but I don't get any attention from women. Not a smile, no casual chitchat, no indication that she thinks I'm anything but shit.

I'm guessing your problem might be body language. I can tell you from experience that, at first, assertive body language feels like you're being an asshole or have a stick up your ass, but you can check yourself against other people to see how they carry themselves. This is especially true if you were always told to be quiet as a kid/expected to not be a nuisance.

Looking presentable is the bare minimum. The rest is body language and attitude. If you're also fit, poor facial aesthetics are a minor disadvantage for men.
I know a guy who is decently fit (but not ripped or jacked or whatever you want to call it--he just doesn't look fat and has good upper body strength). His facial aesthetics are like 4/10. Big irish nose, pockmarks, weak chin, the works.
And yet women 10 years younger flock to him, and every chick I see him with is as attractive as the cutest girls I've ever dated.
My best analysis is that he's extremely kind and unthreatening, but has a gift for flirtation, and makes women feel like they are at the center of the universe with him. It's also a goddamn compulsion, he'll chat up a woman while her husband is three steps away, and slips into body language that signals attraction without even thinking about it. He never seems "thirsty", but is always engaged and intense. I dunno, it's hard to describe, but I'm trying to emulate his game.

And it's still embarrassing there because I was pretty much bigger than most of the guys even at a much shorter height.
