Here's my car stuck on the side of the freeway.
>1967 Beetle
>pros: head-turner, compliments daily, fun to drive, surprising amount of leg room for all involved
>cons: top speed of 80, drum brakes inadequate in case of a true emergency, tendency to break down
>have done nothing to it but repairs
>>
>>23006809
>Top speed of 80
>Have done nothing to it but repairs
I mean it's a pretty Beetle but goddamn it seems like that car is a nightmare to own
>>
>>23006845
It's really up to me. As you can see in that picture, that's the ENTIRE engine. Beetles have lasted as long as they have because they're so simple to fix. If I knew cars better I could easily perform all the maintenance needed. Top speed is manageable, I can do 70 in the middle lane

Once my focus dies I want to get a new WRX or STI, but probably a WRX because of cost
>>23006809
Looks clean for a 67 most of them are rusting away in people's driveways. Keep it stock it'll retain its value, or if you do mods save the original parts. I had a 72 and I fucking loved that thing but at the time I was too poor to keep up with repairs so I ended up swapping for an 05 focus

I build tubular control arms for g bodies, the front and rear arms are the same on 3rd gens, you should hit me up.

Ive got a soft spot for turd gens but like you said lots of rust and Im in Michigan
>>
No pics on me but I wheel and deal alot.
I have an 86 SS monte that I am going through its got a ford 9 that I build a 4l80e and a 408 sbc that I actually did all the machine work on, its being thrown together by a friend now.
Ive got a VFN glass front clip for it that Im going to use linear actuators to open up.
The motor has Atomic EFI on it too.
I built the control arms for it too, not a bolt I havent touched on it. Hopefully before winter is over I can cut the ttop roof off and but a hard top on it.
C5/6 corvette front brakes on belltech drop spindles with wilwood hubs , Im going to use c4 fronts on the rear.
Its a money pit for sure, eventual plan is Optima street car series

I forgot to mention that when my 1000 dollar 95 corrola dies I have a supercharged Bonneville that my parents gave me because they bought my sister a new car.
Also made a trade with some super old Brodix sbc heads for a running /driving s10 with a 350 vortec in it, it scoots pretty good but Im just going to sell it in the spring.

1990 Plymouth Sundance 2.5 i4, 3 speed auto.
Paid 400 for it and have put noting but brakes and an oil change or two in her. About to sell her for 400 too. Thing is dog slow, but! On the brightside, its ugly and all my passengers suffer.

This is my ride. Being a europoor, I dont have money to rebuild it, just keep it running (mandatory maintence).

love that it still turns heads an I get a ton of compliments on it, cheap to mantain if something break, its a diesel so doesnt consume much
dont love that I need to rebuild the whole front suspension, fix the drum brakes, do the bodywork, lots of interior stuff needs to be fixed

But, in the end, I love it to death and will probably keep it somewhere and rebuild it when I get the money for it.
