Jesus people piss me off. It's like the region collectively forgets December isn't really that cold. The coldest time of year is late January through early February. Last December daily high averaged 44F and Christmas day was in the 60s.

The main problem is that there aren't that many New England /soc/ posters, and the ones on here are mainly guys looking to hook up. I jokingly said my asl is "18/f/cali" once and I got two people messaging me within an hour or so.
Plus the region itself is deceptively large. If you live in Rhode Island there are areas more than an hour away from each other and most people (in RI and elsewhere) aren't willing to drive that far unless it's for sex.
