But for reals my theory is that because culture is so masculine focused society as a whole is more interested in the outliers who are males who want to become females ("why would anyone want to be a girl?") and women who want to become men are in a grey area where being ignored socially gives them more agency to express themselves how they want.

Put a different way: Men care about men, and are more concerned when a man starts acting unmanly. Women on the other hand can be tomboys without nearly as much discrimination; until they cross certain lines, then it becomes Boys Don't Cry.

Also I feel like that's the kind of explanation that works on the surface, but doesn't really make sense when you think about it. There are several gay guys on /soc/ vying for male attention, and even this thread is a pre-T transguy vying for male attention.

Also, I don't think I had enough space to say it, but I think it's a bit silly to say men wouldn't give attention to transmen. You can still put your dick in one. I think it's mostly to do with them being comparatively rare, so the ones that do tend to hang around places like this don't tend to show themselves because they don't feel like they're "supposed" to.
