I've gained 20lbs since having her (which is what I gained during pregnancy... lost all of it within 2 weeks... and have steadily gained the shit back since then ugh!)... so I'm really trying to work it off to get back down to my pre-pregnancy weight. It's ridiculous... my maternity leave killed my motivation and I just now got it back.

I lost the 20lbs within 10 days without trying. lol I had gestational diabetes, so I ate with only one person in mind... my unborn daughter. I didn't want her to be born with health issues that I had the power to control for her.
Maternity leave for me was 3 months. And honestly, I didn't gain too much of the weight back during that time... maybe a 2-4lbs. Probably because I didn't eat much at all since I was so damn tired all of the time. I wasn't able to breastfeed, though I wanted to.
I just started c25k. I've never truly been a runner, but I've always wanted to try. A personal goal, i guess. My weights are out in the garage... I lifted quite a bit before my pregnancy, but I've been more drawn to my treadmill as it's indoors and warm. :)

Haha no, I steer clear of /fit/. I honestly only come on 4chan when i'm incredibly bored... and late nights by myself (tho I haven't had many in the past year) do become a bit boring.
I'm not a powerlifter by any means. But I do like to say I lift (relatively) heavy. I'm not wasting my time on 5lb dumbbells. I can't remember what my heaviest lifts were. 150 for DLs maybe? 100 for squat? Not huge by any measure. I'd love to get back to it with that intensity plus more.
3 months of maternity leave is just common here. I had to use up all of my paid time off to take it... luckily I had 10 weeks of PTO saved up so I only went a little bit without pay. Very rarely do companies provide PAID maternity leave.
Was it difficult? Sure. I cried the first day I dropped her off... but she gets really good care, so I don't have a problem with it anymore. Plus I like that she's able to socialize with other littles, too.

Our government picks up ~70% of your salary for a year every time you have a kid, and Mom or Dad can take it and or split it. Socialism FTW! My wife still cried when our little ones started daycare too... I think that's universal. I work shifts, so I'm home a lot, and could keep the youngest one home with me most days, but the socializing and teaching they get in daycare is amazing. I just drop him off late and pick him up early... The big one is in junior kindergarden, which is a whole new can of worms. They grow up fast! Enjoy every stage!
8 months... so she's probably standing with asssistance, and pretty close to walking? Your existence is going to be revolutionized pretty soon!
