The only thing that turns me off about diapers is the age play that seems to be involved with it. To me diapers are humiliation play that gives the dominant in the relationship control over the submissive. Forcing myself to act like an actual baby would get me dry.

'Age is just a number' works both ways really. Sometimes it's not even necessarily acting. Plenty of people who are 'grown adults' have stunted emotional growth at some point (early - late teens usually), and would be content staying there forever if they could, hence having a 'daddy' enabling that.
The stigma behind grown men doing it (manchild) is there's a lot less people willing to take care of them, and traditionally they're meant to be the provider.

Age play isn't necessarily always a part of enjoying diapers.
That's why it's called AB/DL.
AB is for the Adult Baby stuff, and DL is for the Diaper Lover stuff.
There is some overlap for most people, but I tend to fall pretty solidly on the Diaper Lover side of AB/DL. I don't really see the appeal of pacifiers, bottles, soppy cups, etc. either.
But I will say there is some appeal to not having to act like a responsible adult.
I just wouldn't go anywhere near that young with my own level of childish fun.
