Alright, where should I start? I sucked ass at algebra back in.... Geez... 8th grade? The math teacher was a gook who didn't really teach the kids anything and instead let them run a muck around the classroom doing whatever they wanted. Algebra and calculus are two of the things that you'll always be using in physics. I recommend you get yourself a book on basic algebra and start from scratch. That's not difficult but it will take you where you want to be.

If your work is only ever seen by you, then whatever.
However, most of my work is looked at by supervisors or peers. If your handwriting is atrocious people will look at your answer and if that isn't right they won't even try to decipher it.
Also, when I come back to my old work it's just that much easier to follow if it's neat, especially since I probably won't remember the concepts or what I was thinking about a year ago perfectly.
