It took me a while to find God and know for sure that he loved me. I reached far levels of depression and felt like killing myself over and over.
After what seemed like a cruel amount of time to me, he made it clear that he loved me. Worth the time of grief for the endless bounty he supplies to me now.
I'm not sure if this had anything to do with it... but it wasn't until I deeply Desired Jesus to step into my life and asked for his salvation that he made it clear he was there.

It's weird, I know a person who has been basically telling me the same thing for years. My main problem with the concept of God is that it just rings false to me. How do you overcome the feeling that you're lying to yourself about something important? I really wish I could just fall back on God and accept that it's a real thing and that the acceptance and faith will bring rewards, but it just seems so outlandish. It's very hard for me to put my beliefs in this kind of thing. This is probably due to the fact that my parents never forced me into any religion and let me figure stuff out for myself. Oddly enough my mom reverted back to Christianity during her final two years. It was weird. Anyway, I have a lot of problems blindly accepting God and nobody has explained to me how to be willfully ignorant enough to accept that kind of thing as real. I'm really not trying to come off like a dick when I say that. It's just how I think about this if I'm forced to articulate those thoughts.

It's like if I attempt to interpret this world through this lens, I can see what you're talking about. But something still doesn't feel right. It's like OK, here are all the signs, but I still don't get what it's leading to or what grand purpose a higher being would have in keeping me alive through this crazy bullshit.
