I was on s4s the day it became a board, and my keks slowly returned. Now it feels like s4s is going to shit the same way /b/ did and we will have to make a new board. i think nanasi, who founded lup, was around like 2004-5 and quit until 2013 (but was on other more weeb focused boards some until then, don't quote me i can't speak for him)..
i lurked/posted some in 2006-7 but pretty much didn't go to 4chan at all from 2008 until 2013. so i think this is a common experience. i'll always be new relative to other ppl, and 4chan was very different when i came back than when i left... (terms like "greentext" and "shitposting" were new to me, "my face when" written out was a thing but >mfw was new to me) so it's definitely possible to be old and new at the same time. also Kekt who is "old" here is apparently only 14 so unless he was on 4chan in preschool he's "new" by that standard. (i hope kekt is alright ;_;). so basically i wouldn't worry about any of that. /b/ was never good also. ;p
I knew about 4chan since it was started but I never had any interest in it until you guys starting significantly affecting things outside of 4chan, so I started coming to /b/ in 2010 to study it and ended up getting sucked into it, then right when I was starting to get kind of bored of it [s4s] was created and those first couple of months where it was hidden were totally ridiculous and i had never seen anything else like it on le internet, so i got super involved and then [s4s] progressed and i lost interest at a couple points but i always keep coming back because even though we get fig newtons and rudeposters, the core of goodness that was at the heart of the original [s4s] is still here in some form and there's still really no where else like this for me.
