I was put on a bunch of medications. An SSRI, a benzo, and some other one. It really doped me up and made me into a zombie, but I never made any progress in getting happier on them. When I decided to quit, I found myself addicted to the benzos and a terrible SSRI withdrawal syndrome. The benzos were hell to withdrawal from, never take those. I'm completely clean now as of 2 years, but, I really regret going on meds.
Therapy also didn't help me, although I'd recommend you try that before meds. Some people it really helps, but, I honestly think my depression is very biological and not much talk therapy can do about that - and the meds just don't fix it.
There are all these therapies now that are 'evidence based' but, they weren't effective for me and upon looking at the research it is a pretty weak 'evidence base' (not double blind, poor controls, poor sample size, adhoc, etc.).
I'd give some good news, but, I haven't really found the answer yet. Or even anything that helps.

Yeah, I keep up to date on it as much as I can. I've considered looking into some natural remedies, but haven't gone that route yet. Some of that sometimes off as snake oil, but, taking vitamins can't really hurt.
I do get exercise and get outside, a lot of people say that helps them. I'm not sure it helps me but I do it anyways. Also eating healthy is important, which I do anyways.

Not really. Have a bit of a plateau with my weight loss but hoping this week I push through it. I ate well, just, seems to be stuck. Only 4 lbs to go for my goal of 155-lbs. Then once there going to level off and see if I want to drop a little more. It's a struggle once my bodyfat got lower.
