You are now Wildrick, the prince of the forest elves. A scout has come to warn you of an evil awakening in your woods.
(To update consistently there is an additional drawfag. Don't be alarmed by style change)

I like it so far

The scout unveils the contents of the package. There is a shard of an arrow, a flowering twig, and a severed talon.

Wildrick timidly questions the relevance of this assortment of junklike item. He states that these arent just any ordinary items, they are a testament to the evil in your forest. This arrow is coated in corrupted blood and this talon can only be from a monster.
>>
>>24802
are you SURE these items are evil? i mean it Could be just some arrow shot by a random hunter who caught the bird that talon belonged to.
>>
>>24802
Quick question, are you doing these with just the mouse?

And also:
>Ask him the nature of the monster the talon belongs to, if he knows

Use your superior elven magic to transform your hand into a claw identical in appearance to the claw in the box.

It cannot be so. For this, worst of all, is unmistakablely a Dire Avenue Stem. It only grows on evil soil.

I hadn't more than a glace before it had undone the life of my partner. I am better to forget such thruths than to linger on them for your sake.

bu...but elven magic is inferior in nature as being not precise, slow acting but function at large scale over a period of time, pretty much like a continuation of breeze instead a brief sudden storm

so how would he suggest we rid ourselves of this evil?
>>
>>25034
Thank the scout for the items and send him with a few coins for a tavern

Wrap up the items and summon a servant to bring it to the Court Mage

Attend to some administrative duties and sleep

Wildrick spends the day organizing a council meeting to discuss the matter when a curious idea strikes him. He had sent invitations to the dwarf lords and his forest court but the none have dared to summon the humans. They can be a powerful ally if they can be trusted.

why not invite the humans? What have they done to be excluded?

Humans were estranged from the magic folk long before Wildrick was born. The records say that they were good allies but not why they left.
>>25706
This is a world map and it neglects finer details. The dwarves control the mountains to the north and the humans are east of the river. The river is controlled by the naiads. They weren't invited because they would die away from the river. Kin are sparse race without a unified council and cannot be invited.
>>
>>26326
Send a party to the Oracle. Send 3 people to each of the human principalities and kingdoms. Each party will have 2 soldiers and 1 person from court to negotiate
>>
>>26399
The Oracle could give a prophecy, if my guess about what it is is correct
>>
>>26326
Send an envoy to the coast and attempt to summon the dread lord.
>>
>>26399
Oracle is the mountain where the first human wizard disappeared. The elves dont have a standing army. They rally a militia on nessecity. Those one elves where called scouts because they know how to tie knots and start fires by themselves. (They're basically mall cops that hunt). There are enough elf councilmen to journey but those who go wont be able to attent the meeting with the giant. The Invitations are sent by messenger bird, which I forgot to draw.
>>
>>26326
Any chance the dwarfs would be receptive?
>>
>>27175
>Dwarves
>Receptive
I dunno, humans might be the way to go.

Wildrick cant speak for the dwarves but he thinks that dwarf and man are very similar. Both industrious types. And humans also (or at least what he's read of them) make use of a lot of iron, which the dwarves often find in their mines. He imagines that they could find peace for the sake of trade.
>>
>>28218
Alright, send a gift of human significance that the forest elves kept from the elf-human alliance in hopes of the resuming of friendly relations. Then try to negotiate cheaper import tariffs of crude iron from the dwarf lands to the human lands in exchange for the dwarfs' help if you succeed in doing that.

The humans and elves rarely exchanged gifts. Humans often think of elf gifts as trivial and old elves never took a liking to human crafts, which were usually lofty rings and amulets. When the first humans were seen, they came for only timber. But when met those few layed down their hatchets. The humans might fail to see the significance of a crude hatchet. perhaps a new gift might fare better.

Perfect! A well crafted elf sheild. The humans might not find much use in a sheild so small but it's ornate qualities make it a perfect decoration.

The council members will be at the giant meeting. If you meet them there, it'll be too late to invite humans, so their advice wont be much help. You could always ask for advice down in Keblton but the letter might not make it on time if you dally.
>>
>>29885
Who would you ask for advice in Kelbton maybe if we know who are option were we could budget are time accordingly and still have time to send the letter

There are plenty of elves in Keblton but there are only few wildrick would conider for advice.

Everyone knows Penter, he is great leader and might have good advice.
Old Mr Whick is the only elf who has a military history.
Cricket the merchant gets around a lot and might have some information.
Tambry doesn't have any useful imput; Wildrick won't admit it but he just wants an excuse to talk to her.
>>
>>33275
talk to cricket
>>
>>33275
May as well as Whick, he might remember something from when we were allied with the humans.
>>
>>33275
Either Penter or Whick. They seem like swell, useful dudes.
>>
>>33275
Confide the situation of the 3 objects with Penter

Ask Mr Whick if he knows about fighting evil beings

Ask Cricket about any unusual happenings in his travels

Make Tambry your mistress

I would go with good old wick he seems like he would have some knowledge of humans if he could remember it

if we go to all of them, the letter won't show up on time.
>>
(Hey, I'm the second artist.)

Wildrick decides to turn to Whick for advice. What should we ask him?
>>
>>44367
The humans, tell me of their kind and when we were last allied with them. Can they be trusted?
>>
>>44367
Ask him how one grows such a magnificent beard.
>>
>>44367
ask him about past evils that have afflicted the land here.

>Mention of humans

Humans?

Of course not!

Those vile things are treacherous and deadly. They would skulk into our woods and snatch up the elves with their large hands. One of my friends was skewered by one of their long horns...

Oh.. no wait.

You mean the tiny giant things. Yeah, those are pretty friendly.
I remember they would bring their bound papers and jot down everything about us.

>Mentioning an alliance.

Alliance? Oh, those things didn't bother much with that stuff. They seemed mostly interested in the iron. The old elves didn't like the stuff, so they had scared the humans off. Said it would take away their magic but I'd rather lose my magic than my life.

Ask him how to bring the color back.

Thread is on autosage. Are you making a new one?
>>

(Wildrick might have to be put on hold. I'm going to get root canal work done and I'll be doped up on codeine for some time. My other artist doesn't feel comfortable running the story on his own. I'll have to start up a new thread some other time and pick up where we left off.)
